If you come to lecture, you will pass. His handwriting is not the best but if you listen and pay attention, you know what he's writing. Didn't even need the book which was a plus because it was expensive. Come to class and pay attention and this should be straight forward class

Professor Barnes is a good teacher, the way he teach class is ok, the question he has is that like tell some boring boring jokes. And the biggest question is his handwriting. it is hard to understanding what is he trying to show, sometimes you have to guess. Overall, if you can learn by yourself this class is not a problem for you.

VERY VERY confusing professor. Writing is basically chicken scratch. When explaining math problems, he explains them in a way that makes sense to him, not the students. I tried very hard in class and even studied and I am not pleased with my grade. I still passed, but I felt as if I could have done better if i would have taken another professor

Terrible teacher he is late for 10 minutes every time for class. So heartless that if you place a rose to his hand it would rot and wither. Very hard test grader never gave a curve and he tested most of the materials in one lecture and the 13 part 2 WEEKS. Blames the student and not the closeted hoarder (Himself). Wouldn't recommend this class.

AVOID Ronald Barnes at all costs. He mumbles while scratching out illegible writing on the board. He starts on one side of the room, then moves to the other. It is nearly impossible to discern what he is saying & even less likely that you will be able to translate his handwriting. Textbooks are wrong. Excel is wrong. But, HE is always right! JOKE!!

Test are all in blue book and extremely difficult. His handwriting looks like he had a seizure on the board. Everyone in the class had to scoot their desk all the way up to the front so that we could try to read his handwriting. He says that the book is wrong and so is the tutoring lab. If you want a good professor take Carol Vobach. Made and A

Honestly he's a very nice man. He has a big heart. But I will be honest I went to class and I still struggled. I was very sad when I saw the grade I recieved after I studied my butt off. He does give you chances to bring yourself up from an F to a D if necessary but don't take him if you have other options.

Took him for finite math and he was Terrible. He spends most class time talking about how he used to work with NASA. Over 2/3 of the class dropped. He doesn't make sense working the problems and doesn't care to help you understand how to perform the work. I would not recommend him.

He was not hard but borring. Just practive the problems you will be fine. I don't use the text book too much eccept for the problems. Ask questions after class is the best thing to do instead stop by his office hour. Do not ask tutors, they give wrong answers sometimes.

I don't use extbook too much eccept the problems. He does not help much when I stop by his office hour so the best thing u can do ask the questions after class.

Very Nice professor, he goes over the work several times to make sure you understand. Took in summer 2011 it was fast paced but I learned alot in those 4 weeks and as long as you keep up with the work, review your notes and go to class you should pass fairly easy. Love Mr. Barnes.

Basically lectures and writes on the board while you take notes everyday. Hes not strict at all and has corny jokes that makes the class a bit interesting. Always helpful with reviewing for tests. Although he takes points off on his tests for the littlest things like not rounding or something.

This Man has his favorites, if you honestly work hard and do your work, it does not pay off because he will give you the grade you dont deserve. He has an horrible way grading your test and any class work you would think we are taking technical writing. He takes point off for making errors that does not pertain to the test no personal skills!!!

As others have stated, he's very clear on what he wants you to know and then tests you on what he tells you he's going to. If you go to class, take notes, and practice the examples he gives you for home work, you'll make an A. If you're mom still makes you breakfast and drives you to school, you might have a hard time.

He is so special and not in a good way. The text book was not helpful and even though he repeats the material several times it is not clear. On top of that, he is so anal about the test. He takes point off for everything. Stats is not about taking notes and just going to class. I'm an A student and his class was too confusing. I dropped.

This class was super easy. COME TO CLASS, take notes, and if you fail, maybe you should change your major. I know several students in my class who complained about him, but that was b/c they did not come to class. He goes over the material many times before exams so you know exactly what to expect. Makes it as easy as possible. No textbook needed
