Go to lecture because the notes and practice problems will help you on the tests. He always lets lecture out early. His practice tests are almost exactly the same as the real tests (just adds a few problems and he usually tells you what). Study your notes and practice tests and you will be prepared for the exams.

Go to the lecture. He tells you everything you need to know for tests. He works through example problems in the lecture. It's a good beginner level course. His tests are clear and he gives you practice exams which are almost exactly your real exam.

Professor Callahan provides you with all of the information you need to do well on exams in lecture and in the practice exams he posts. That being said the expectations where not always clear. He often takes short cuts in lecture that he claims are acceptable to replicate on the exam but points are still taken off. Had to fight for every point

Pro: - Practice Exams are similar to real ones (3) with exception of a few curveballs. Cons: - Exams are too long: Even if you know material, might not finish. No time to review exam. - So many notes (written in tiny print) that you cannot concentrate on processing material in-class. - Final is cumulative. - Does not offer extra credit.

Wonderful teacher. don't buy the textbook. As long as your in every single lecture, and take notes, you'll be fine. First time taking chemistry since I was 12, but organic chemistry was doable with him as a teacher.

Professor Callahan is a very caring professor and makes sure to explain everything thoroughly to ensure that everyone understands the topics. He gives out practice tests that are very similar to the real exam. If you take them and study your notes you'll get A's all semester.

He is the nicest, kindest professor I have ever met. He is so personable, and never gets mad. He is always willing to help, asking if anyone has any questions frequently, so blaming him is the student's fault. Exams are long but as long as you went to lecture it is fine. Never skip a lecture. Dont even be late because all his exams are based on it

Literally the worst class I have ever taken. Doesn't care one bit if students understand whats going on or not, he is absolutely robotic and makes the material as uninteresting and dry as possible. His exams are wicked long and I just can't stand his level of disorganization and disinterest in student comprehension, even if he is a nice guy...

No need for textbook, but TAKE NOTES in class. All his questions on exam are based off the NOTES in class. So I suggest you do not skip his class, unless you have a buddy to take pictures or write notes for you. Class is super boring, just take notes and browse internet on your phone, his notes are clear enough, don't need to listen to what he said.

Professor Callahan it's knowledgeable about his field but unfortunately he is not a good lecturer. He goes too fast and it seems like he talks to himself instead of the class. However, since I took intro to modern chemistry, the class was pretty easy and you just had to study the notes to do well on the test.

While a bit old school in how he teaches Orgo II, (5050 memorization and concept), taking him over the summer course was a good decision for me. His tests are comprehensive (read: long), but not too tricky. Study his old exams, and make sure you study your notes from class and you will do fine. Very available for office hours. A good man.

I personally don't like chemistry but he made it quite easy to understand. Tests were easy; I studied the day before and got 90's and above. He puts practice exams and answer keys online which are really helpful to study from. Attendance not mandatory but you should still go. Old school guy, writes on the board. Write down everything he writes. :)

Explained things well. book was not that useful. Take good notes and write everything he writes (yes writes - old school style) on the board and what he says. Study the notes and work on the practice exams. Do many problems before the test even if you have to google some. He's nice but a trickster on his exams. Usually studied for2 days b4 exams

He's a pretty chill guy and helpful in class. If you took chem in high school this is basically just review. Three exams and labs were rather easy. Take the practice exams and study, you'll be set. I didn't buy the textbook and got through the semester just fine.

Professor Callahan is very nice, friendly, and patient. He is really helpful for all questions and concerns. His grading is lenient and the exams are not too bad. The textbook, however, is not necessary. Make sure to rewrite notes and do the practice exams that he uploads.
