Professor Fields is an awesome instructor consistent with the field that he is teaching, administration of justice, no laughing matter. It is a transfer class. He teaches what we need to know, the correct way and how to do it right. The lectures are all consistent with work assigned, tests, pop quizzes and papers assigned.

He is a good teacher if you are able to stay on track with his lectures and not get side-tracked when he does. I didn't like him as my main teacher in one class but thought he was awesome when we were in defensive tactics. His tests are ridiculously hard, I went from an A to a C at the final exam so just make sure you study and take good notes!

Loved this class. It is a difficult class because the book is not used in it. You need the book to go home and read about what you learned in class. He does sometimes drift from 1 story to the next but gives plenty of examples to remember the content. Really pay attention to the wording of the tests because he wants you to really think about it(:

Honestly, his 102 class is hard. The reason is we really didn't go over the book, he drifts from story to story and then comes back. His tests are hard as well and you really have to concentrate on what you're reading. However, he really loves to help his students and really does look out for the best interest of the student. I recommend him.

Fields is one of the best instructors I have ever had. His moral beliefs, knowledge, and experience makes me pay attention. I love listening to his lectures...time just flys by. I expect to get an A, because he makes sure you have everything you need to pass. If you do poorly in this class, it is to no fault but your own.

PROS:He is interested in his class and creates situations and refers to previous court cases to help you understand the subject material. He dident require the books, instead he gave us all the chapter hand outs in quick, easy notes format.I studied 10 minutes before an exam and i usually passed with a C or better.CONS:He does repeat his examles alot.

His class was super easy, he was pretty nice, but he was also boring. He's old so he told you stories from his police career from forever ago. SUPER SUPER EASY CLASS!!! I'd take it for an easy A because it requires minimal work.

His tests are hard. We didn't go over the books in class, just his power points but I recommend you get the book. I think I would have done a lot better on his tests if I took the time to read the book instead of just depending on his power points. He is hard of hearing so having to ask questions was hard. Just be on time or he will lock the door.

I had him for AJ101 and AJ102 and I did not like him at all. I will not take him ever again. He explained things well in his powerpoints but his tests were beyond hard. He would put really tricky questions. Also he never gave a review.

Gives good illustrations to explain his power point notes. There are 3 tests and a research paper, which you're not allowed to use the internet for, just check out a good book from the library. His tests are not easy but not too hard either, just study the notes. No need for the book, it's just a waste of money.

Fields was very clear and precise and stuck to what he said. He does show some favoritism toward his AJ students, esp those going into law enforcement, but was still helpful overall in all aspects & did everything possible to help prepare everyone for qualifying.

Really cool guy but hes hard of hearing so its kinda difficult to participate in class. Other than that, Only a couple assignments like a research paper and then a few tests and a couple extra credit quizzes. Really interesting classes and he makes them more enjoyable.

Great teacher. I have taken 2 classes with him and plan on taking more. Only HW is to study and if you do that you should get a B or higher. He is very knowledgable and will do whatever he can to make sure you learn.

Gives good examples, let's you know exactly what to expect on the tests. His lecture are not just reading out of the book, he gets good discussions going. Warning though, if you are a liberal and are easily offended you should probley stay away from his classes.

Nice guy. Good teacher. Have taken him for aj 101 and 102 and will take him 3 more times. He is easy and all the note taking is the crap on the test, DUMMIES! The talking a lot is the examples he gives to explain what he's teaching. He's funny if you have a sense of humor.
