He is a good and understanding teacher. Tests are kind of tough and he gets off topic often, although. His hand writing is a little tough to read too. All in all if you show up the day before the test he reviews enough so you get the gist so don't miss that. He offers an extra credit paper that is 20% of your grade (7pages).

Comment:
Class with this professor is like story time as kids. His lectures do not feel like a classic lecture they feel like he was there when everything happened. This professor is kind ad understanding so if you miss a few classes for personal issues, he will give you a private lecture outside of class on everything you missed. Overall I recommend him.

He does an awesome job at presenting history and gives ridiculously easy multiple choice tests and only one mandatory essay. He also does not use a textbook which means that you do need to pay a little attention in class. Still, if you try, you will probably get a decent grade in this class.

Great Teacher! Would Recommend. Gives a extra credit paper that boosts your grade. Not a tough grader. I slept in his class every other day because I was so tired or sat on my laptop in the back and my grade reflected that. He didn't do anything about it. My Mistake. It was like story telling twice a week. You go to the class and take notes about how people use to live. Not boring at all when he's telling it. Best class I've had.

Worst decision ever taking his course. He is too old to be teaching, he came back after retiring once. He is a very nice guy, very laid back and nice. However, you will probably fall asleep.. he is very monotone, and his handwriting is completely illegible. I'd recommend recording his class if you want to get any information down

I loved this class- No book is needed and there are only 4 grades- 3 tests and a paper. The key is to show up for EVERY class and take a ton of notes. He is a fascinating story teller and you will walk away with not only an education but a sense of how history connects to your world today.

I took an online class with him, big mistake. It sounds like he's a good professor in class, but I wouldn't recommend you take his online class. They are very hard and he isn't very helpful. All of the work is out of the text book so be prepared to read a ton and even though his quizzes are open book, they are timed making them hard to complete.
