Comment:

The absolute worst psych class I have taken. Perkins is confusing, unorganized, and beyond boring. Her classes are painful and annoying to sit through. Avoid all of her classes, ESPECIALLY Personality. Her tests come from nowhere, she contradicts the book and often has no idea what she's talking about and can also be offensive. STAY AWAY!

Personality is the best psych class I have ever taken! The material is tough but really interesting and she explains everything so its easy to understand! She is extremely smart and really knows what she is talking about. Her teaching style is very straight forward and tests are not that difficult. I cant wait to take her for more classes!

Comment:

I've never dreaded going to a class more than this one. Theories of Counseling was boring, tests were very difficult and Prof Perkins did not teach. Rather, she told the same useless stories over and over again. I'm normally an A student. I've worked incredibly hard to try to do well in this class and I'll prob get a B- if I'm lucky. Avoid her!

Her tests are really hard and do not test you on the text but how she interprets the text. She has not read the latest edition of the text and contridicts it a lot. But she does not tell you up front which parts she does not agree with until you bring it up cause she slammed your essay. I got a B but hated her as a prof. Avoid her classes.

I took Rose for every class she taught. I graduated a couple years ago and am in grad school now- trust me, she might be hard now but she makes life a lot easier when you get to the big show. Her tests are difficult, but doable. She cares a lot about her students and is very helpful if you ask for help. She's respectful and treats you as an adult

She isn't a bad professor. The class was a little boring because of the material and the tests are very hard. Even if you know the information, you are still bound to do poorly. I guess you could get lucky and know what her mc questions are asking, but I didn't. I found the textbook sort of interesting, but seeing test results is very discouraging.

Prof. Perkins really means well. Her exams are super-hard, but her classes are not too boring. She tells a lot of stories and really wants you to learn from them. Some of them are really funny. I think everyone psych major needs to take her sooner or later, so just make sure you go into it prepared.

Theories of Personality- this was a HARD class b/c the textbook sucked so she never used it in class it she could help it, but had tons of MC questions on the exams (only 3 of them) from the text. tests are extremely difficult- i got a B and it was one of the higher grades in the class. she's a cute old lady though and will help you if you ask.

Dr. Perkins is so helpful and such a great person. I've had her for many classes but have found her to be most helpful and gotten to know her a lot better through the practicum. This is by far the best class I've had at Stonehill and I would recommend it to every psych major. She is such an intelligent psychologist and has a really kind heart

Rose is scatterbrained and a bit insensitive. I took five courses with her which boiled down to the material for 1 decent class. Psych of Women was a good course with some good readings. Other then that, I wasn't very impressed

Her tests are difficult, but she is a fantastic professor! Very enthusiastic and deeply cares about her students (especially those in counseling practicum). She is very helpful when you are in a bind! I lost my internship placement last minute and she quickly helped me find another one in a placement I was unsure about, but she thought it would be a good fit for me. I am still doing the same kind of work that i did in that internship 3 years later and I doubt I would have been without her!

she is very enthusiastic and knows her stuff. i think a lot of people misunderstand her. she is very different from most professors. i really liked the psych of women class i had with her. she is also fair and will give you a break if you talk to her.
