I loved taking professor Thurston's class, even though it was out of my usual field of interest. If you would've asked my econ self if she would have wanted to take another boring history class I would have said no, but Mrs. Thurston has actually made me reconsider. She's absolutely hilarious and a soft grader, I think she's great overall

Dr. Thurston is an amazing professor! She's very sweet and is also very helpful to her students. She strongly encourages class participation. Her tests are easy as long as you do your readings, take good notes, and listen to what she is saying. As a History major, this class is awesome! I've learned alot!

She's a pretty easy teacher; every class is like a story time. It may be easy to zone off because she gives long lectures but its important to pay attention. Before every test she gives the students a study guide and goes over it so we know what to accept.

GREAT PROFESSOR! I took her during the summer. She is really easy, mostly lectures in class and takes attendance. Her tests are fine a long as you study and she gives a study guide for the mid-term and final. Her essays are a bit challenging but she goes over everything in class if your stuck on anything. WOULD RECOMMEND HER DURING THE SUMMER.

She is one of the best teachers i've had so far in my first year in college. She's not boring, keeps class chill, interesting and you will learn a lot. Not a lot of HW which are readings from book. You will have papers to write & gives you plenty of time and for test she gives you study guides. I learned so much and peaked my interest in history.

She is hard dont be fooled. One of those professors that doesnt know how to come down to earth so she can be comprehenible to students that aren't that great in history. Good luck.

Shes such a nice woman. She makes it clear what she wants and is really helpful. She has a sense of humor so the class isn't dull and gives you chances to make up for poor test scores. A little studying goes a long way here.

What a caring individual. She is very thorough but makes the material highly entertaining. She's by no means not too demanding, beyond fair, and I've gotta say I've developed a bit of a crush on her :P My recommendation is to take her, her knowledge in the field is vast, and her willingness to teach is unparalleled.

What a doll!!! I absolutely LOVE her!!! Just like someone else said, you get what you put in. She's beyond fair, sometimes too lenient even, but she just wants everyone to do well. I wish she could teach ALL my classes! Take EXCELLENT notes and you got an A on her exams.

Dr. Thurston is by far, the best professor in the history department! They are all wonderful but when you factor in all the qualities in a wonderful professor, Dr. Thurston has it all! She is smart, very kind, very helpful, and she wants her students to learn as much as possible. I took her more than twice and will again in the future.

Professor Thurston is a great teacher and a good person. She really wants you to do well and does give you alot of information in class. If you pay attention to her, you will be fine. Mind you, she likes information directly from primary sources, so stick to the sources she provides and do not look up info online etc. People who complain are lazy.

She is a good professor but if you're taking one of her class and you're not good at history than good luck her exams are pretty tough she gives you so much materials to study and she barley uses half of them on the exam, make sure you take a lot of notes! She gives you 3 exams and 2 papers the papers are no problems its just her exams thats rough

Show up and take a LOT of notes and you'll do well. She tells you to buy the book but you don't really need it. Takes attendance but doesn't say anything if you miss. No homework, ever...as long as you take good notes you'll be fine. She packs TONS of info into her classes. Great professor, one of my favorites.

Very cool woman. lectures are kind of unclear. History majors will ace this class. Others will have to learn. Interesting class. No hw. Just go to class, takes notes, and u will pass easily. Gives a decent study guide before exams. I would take her again. doesnt care much about attendance, but she does take it.Grades based on midterm and final exam.
