Ross was great. His class was difficult at the beginning but he helped a lot. Homework was due every day and graded but he gave you 4 opportunities to get it right. The bright side of this was he cultivated your math knowledge and confidence. His grading seemed kind of random but it would be great to take another class with him

Comment:

Geoghegan is not a bad professor, but this class is extremely hard. Writing correct proofs is difficult and you'll definitely have to redo many of them. Most of the grade depends on homework and you'll spend many hours working on them. His office hours are for the most part helpful, but expect to go there many times during the semester.

He'll make you work, but you will absolutely learn all of the material and it'll be worth the effort. He makes the material interesting, and as long as you stay on top of the homework you should do well. His test was extremely fair and most of the grade is based on homework. Highly recommended for this course, seeing as he actually wrote the book.

Ross is the man. He is a genius who wrote the textbook for Math 330 and doesn't fake or bs anything. Encourages class participation and you will be so drawn in with all of his lectures. Just keep up with your homework and you'll love this class

Amazing professor learned a lot from the class. Very good lectures. He commands the attention of the class well. Tests weren't too hard. There should had have been a ta for the class, and I feel like he gave more attention to the students that did well instead of those that needed help.

Ross rocks! I'm not sure how he taught in Math 220, but I love his teaching style for Math 471. Yes, you need to do A LOT of homeworks. As a senior math major flashback, Ross G. and Anton S. are the best professors in our math department. BTW, his Irish accent sounds soooo COOL.

Anyone who complains about Ross obviously has not attempted Calc at this university w/ Anton Schick. You're all incredibly spoiled. Ross' tests are VERY manageable if you know the material well. Just make sure you go to class... it helps a lot. He is fairly flexible when it comes to grading, despite what people have already said.

If you're not a complete retard and know some high school algebra then this class really isn't terrible. All you have to do is not miss any lectures and you'll be fine. I found that most of my class was uncapable of computing some simple calculations and therefore they all struggled. So my overall disclaimer is that if your not retarded, easy A

The class is hard, but its calculus; its to be expected. Ross tries hard to make everyone understand and always stops to take questions. Those who do not stay up with the work are the ones who write bad comments. If you stay up to date with the work, and ask for help when you need it you will be fine. Also, brush up on you algebra beforehand.

Geoghan is a bit of a jerk who thinks he knows everything but if you have taken calc in high school this class shouldnt be too difficult. If your bad at algebra you may have to put in some extra work cuz he doesnt really help in that department. If you have taken calc before you shouldnt expect anything less than a B.
