Fantastic lecturer. Bases all her exams on the slides; I got away without buying the textbook, but if this class is essential to your major you'll probably need it for context. She's really passionate and excited about what she's teaching; it kind of rubs off on you.

Comment:

Long answer questions. Provides no time outside of class. Her study sessions consist of her being in her office and leaving the students to talk to themselves. She says she is available for questions, but doesnt really help as much as she should. There is also a tutorial aspect to the course that makes it an even harder class than other courses.

Very very hard class. Tutorials and hard lectures. Really bad at marking things. Takes forever to give tests back. Provides little time for her office hours. Does not help and teach during her sessions. Do not take.

Comment:

Rossi is a super nice lady who is SUPER passionate about biology. Sometimes she'll go on these cute rants about how awesome sea cucumbers are and stuff. My only problem with the class is that she goes through slides SO quickly that you can't even really process it let alone write it down. That being said, her slides have a lot of info on them.

Comment:

She is clearly passionate about what she teaches and excited to teach the class about it. Her lectures (and slides) are well-organized and extremely informative, making it very clear what will be important for an upcoming test. She loves to bring in examples (occasionally living ones) to fascinate and interest the class.

Dr. Marx is engaged and invested in her students doing well. I found her very supportive and willing to help as long as I was. She is passionate about her subject and does a great job of sharing that with her class. She is a wonderful Prof, and I highly recommend her classes.

Rossi is so passionate about biology it rubs off on all of her students. She is a great lecturer and posts all of her slides online so its not a huge deal if you end up missing one. Her tests are fair! I had her for bio 184 and when i found out she was teaching bio 186 i was more than pleased!

Rossi was by-far my favorite Biology prof first year! Her notes were always clear and her tests were beyond fair. I hope in the future I'll be able to take another class with her. Such a sweetheart!

an absolutely incredible, passionate professor. Roswitha is obviously so interested in her studies and just wants her students to feel the same. Exams are easy as long as you pay attention to main concepts and material. I've noticed that she doesn't expand much from her slides, so attending isnt necessary.

Rossi is my favourite prof for bio184! Her notes are very clear and organized and she makes the course material really interesting! One tip would be read and look at pictures of the different animals in each phyla, especially the ones that are not so commonly used as examples. Those will pop up in the lab final practical exams.

Rossi is a JEM. She's SO passionate about her field and it shows through her enthusiasm, sense of humour, and all around zest. Her notes are so thorough that you won't NEED to go to her lectures but you'll WANT to anyways.

Rossi was such a sweetheart! Her passion for starfish and jellyfish warms my heart. She gave very clear notes.. however at times, coming to lecture seemed a bit pointless as she read directly off these notes and never elaborated. Nevertheless.. her tests were fair and she was cute so I highly recommend her as a prof.

Loved Rossi! Class went by fast. Definitely in her element sharing her love of creatures. Two complaints are that she took a MONTH to give us back our midterm marks. Middle of November and you only had 3% of your grade known. Scary. Second is that the processing portion of her lecture was 10x harder than the pheromone section... terrifying.
