She graded pretty hard and makes the class a Chinese history class that she just uses documentaries to help teach. You have to go far above and beyond the directions to get As on assignments, but 40% of the grade is just for showing up every week.

WARNING: Not an easy film class, she bases the class around Chinese history which she expects you to learn. Grading of papers is extremely picky and subjective

AWESOME TEACHER! The class is slow but she is great. The 3 hours are long and hard to deal with but it meets once a week.. you can do it! Work isn't too hard... and she tell you exactly what she's looking for. BE CREATIVE! she loves that.. especially on take home final exam. Good Luck

although she teaches the class like a highschool class.. its okay and shes nice. she's really particular when it comes to grading assignments..she takes off for the littlest things.. but otherwise, good class to take if you want intro knowledge about chinese history and culture.

Once you get to know Molly she is adorable and has a genuine passion for Chinese culture. language, film etc. The class is pretty interesting, i mean i had to take it from 7:10-9:40 on a thursday night and it wasn't all that bad. Plus we get to watch some cool movies, but attending class is really important, not just some easy film class.

Pretty good. Fairly knowledgable about her stuff. Lots of reading. As long as you keep up with the reading and take good notes in class you will do fine. Listening to her speaking Chinese makes me cringe, but that's a minor detail.

Really great professor -- definitely knows what she's talking about. Easy A on the midterm and final, but not really a whole lot on the films, which were more for providing a visual of the notes and reading. Do all of the reading though, it REALLY helps (especially on pop quizzes)!

Very good teacher in general. Alot of reading (1100+ pages in past month and half). Kind of boring but a decent paper will get you a B. Other than reading not much work but you learn alot.

It really upset me how she made it clear that it wasn't a film class when it was listed as one. The lectures are boring and so are most of the movies. The text isn't bad though and the assignments are engaging and fun. She is a nice woman in general.

Films were either really boring or really interesting. Lectures were dry, monotoned and broing. Not too much reading to do and the papers were easy. The midterm and final were KILLER. Should be renamed chinese history through film
