Professor Dawes is not a good professor, at all. Horrible at teaching, tests on material he never taught, and overall just should've chosen another field. If you can take a class without him, do it. Your GPA will thank you for it.

If you have the option to take methods with another professor DO IT! Don't make yourself miserable. Mostly Rants about politics, never covers course material. Arrogant. Bigoted. Obscene.

Professor Dawes is a nice guy but not a very good professor. Methods is a hard class and Professor Dawes was more interested in the election than the class materiel leading to much confusion over difficult exams and a long unsupervised paper. I stopped doing the homework because they would take hours without help. Overall, try to avoid him.

Dawes is a good guy, but he can't run a class. You will have to learn most of the material outside of class, and it's difficult to say what will be on the midterm and final. He is unclear as to his grading criteria, so talk to others who have taken the class with him already.

For a Capstone class, came away unimpressed. Relied too heavily on students leading the class while discouraging discussion outside of textbook notes. Grading system for essays is unnecessarily complicated. As decent of a person he may be, he's very unclear and uninteresting as a professor. Could have been affected by upcoming sabbatical.

doesn't really give a crap, like he is kind of not a very stimulating guy, but he's laid back, corny/funny, and thinks he's smart but he seems not so much. like he is smart but not bright. kinda "southern" drawl style of speech, really bad dress, and fat, in bad shape, crude, and very politically incorrect

Tough class, but not b/c of him. Even if you do not do well on your first test (which you will not), gives many other chances to raise your grade. When it was clear I was going to probably get a C in his class I started meeting with him, and because of this he gave me a good grade. But you need to do the work.

Tough class, but not b/c of him. Dawes is simply the coolest prof. He will help u out if u go get it from him. most are scared of him, but he was always willing to help me everytime I asked. He has a great sense of humor that help break up an otherwise straightforward class. He's not for the slackers looking for the easy grade.I liked the class

If you don't like Dawes, it's because you don't put the effort in. I am sure I am far from one of his best students, but I'd be a liar if I said he wasn't a helpful professor and an all around good guy. Although his lectures do drag on a bit, that is the nature of a lecture class. He teaches to the best of his abilities for the material.

Horrible professor. Killed any interest the subject might have held with his long, incredibly boring lectures. Sure his Cajun jokes are amusing, but when it comes to actually teaching the class, the man is uninterested in his students and class. Does not deserve to be teaching at G-burg.

Methods is not a fun class, and Dawes knows most people don't like the class. Aside from the killer midterm,its really not that bad. Very helpful on papers, and wants his students to succeed in school and life in general. The Cajun are funny stuff.

He rocks...... so he isn't the easiest professor but he is so funny and I actually look foward to his jokes in class. If you want a Professor you can CHILL with, he is your man.
