easy, class is kinda boring but still easy, easy grader, not really discussion based class just watch movies and discuss chapter assignments. you don't have to read the books assigned, not many assignments

Not a difficult class by any means. Expects us to read a lot of books and even if you don't, you'll be fine. He assigns each student a chapter to report to the class on for each book and as long as you know that chapter well he'll be satisfied. Cancels a lot of essays and is a fairly easy grader. Boring, discussion based class.

Very nice guy, and very passionate about racial issues. The class, however, doesn't always reflect this. He put on a movie almost every day. If not, the class consisted of student led discussion. Assignments consist of a few general/repetitive papers. A little boring, but would take it again in a heartbeat. Easy-going professor/low-stress class.

If you want a class that you do not have to do anything in, this is your class. We meet once a week for three hours and basically just watch movies the entire time. If you think you want one on one attention do not pick this because he is generally late or not prepared for the meetings.

His classes are not his priority and that definitely shows. He's only on campus one day/week. His readings are great but he never facilitates a discussion to back it up - you watch movies for 3 hours and then write a vague paper. it's easy though.

Professor Partridge is a really good teacher. He allows his students to run the class and just guides us though discussions. The reading that he assigns to the students are very interesting and the class was the best class I've taken so far at Bowdoin.
