I really am surprised that so many do not appreciate a professor who tried to do something different from the norm. Teachers who only lecture arent teaching. But, I am assuming a lot of people were just angry because he made them do something other than just warm a seat. He is the best prof I have ever had, and a dear friend.

I thought he was nice, knowledgeable, and easy. I like how he used videos and student presentation.

Incredibly knowledgeble but talks the entire time without letting up and the only way to slow him down is to ask a question. Presentations that only required us to read our essay's were the biggest waste of time and frankly an insult to our intelligence.

This class was a crapshoot- I think the students should have been paid his salary because we spent more time doing presentations, while the prof did nothing. The lectures he did put me to sleep, literally. Also, militant regarding taking attendance.

He seems like he knows alot, but this does little good when he is a terrible lecturer, and uses every opportunity to avoid teaching (videos, student presentations, library classes, etc). I learned virtually nothing. His class was a complete waste of time.

Indeed, his lectures were so dull and speedy that i learned nothing from them, but they basically echoed what was in the textbook anyway. It is easy to do very well in his class, but i don't feel like i learned very much.

Nice guy, this is nothing personal- BUT- Stoddard is the most boring uninspiring lecturer I have ever encountered. He reads for two hours straight off his papers at a mile a minute without looking up. Took 20 pages of notes in one class. Hard marker also.

basically, meeting once a week, do your reading, no lecture, all discussion, you HAVE to talk in class to get pt.
