Very good prof who explains difficult financial concepts so that you can easily understand them. Funny. His "mental breaks" are great! The only prof to take for Finance 301

A super prof who knows how to make a dry subject (finance) actually interesting. He's also funny, and you'll love his "mental breaks." The only prof to take for Fin 301.

Prof. Ray knows how to make a dry subject interesting and, at times, even fun. He's a super teacher from whom I learned a lot. He's the only guy to take for Fin 301.

Finance 301: Corporate Finance. I received an A in this class. Reading the other reviews, I do concede the mental breaks are a bit too frequent, and he does boast and promote the peace corps at times during the class. I thought the lectures were interesting and they were always shorter than class time. Tests were curved and came straight from book

Lectures are very boring, the best part is the "mental breaks" he does every 15 minutes. However he's a very nice guy- even though he constantly is bragging about living all over the world and being in the Peace Corps. Definitely rework the homework problems before tests like he recommends.

Tests were from his lectures & the study guide; you really need to go to class and pay attention, buy the guide $10-12), do the homework repeatedly and you'll fine. He's not very helpful when answering questions, so fyi.

Do go to class. Do the homework when assigned. Do get a financial calculator and learn how to use it. and you'll have it made. As a finance major I was bored of the class but the non-finance majors seemed to enjoy Ray's teaching style.

Attendance isnt mandatory but might as well be, all of the material comes from his lectures and the workbook he uses for his lectures. If you pay attention, go over the workbook, and do the assigned problems, the class is easy. A few multiple choice tests and an extra credit stock picking assignment.

Attend ALL class meetings and do ALL homework problems more than once to really understand how to work the problems. Attend the test review sections too.

Go to class, do the homework problems 3 or 4 times (like he says) and a tough subject will be a lot easier. The problems are similar to statistics so you have to know what formula to use and when to use it however the formulas are on the tests. Its worth it to figure out out to use the Finance app on the TI 83 plus.

Don't even buy the book. Just buy his own published pamphlet (it's about $12). Go to class and do the homework then you will do well in the exams and you will get an A. The exam questions are very similar to the homework assignments.

good professor and understands that not everyone in the class is a finance major. his tests consist of 20 multiple choice, some from concepts of his powerpoint slides and others from the homework. he literally changes the numbers in the homework problems and the concepts come straight from the powerpoint slides.

Very easy to understand. Tests are 20 MC questions but math is definetly involved. Gave "mental-breaks" every 10 minutes. Learned more stuff in guiness Book of world records than finance. Highly recommended. Told us interesting stories.
