Dr. K is by far my favorite psych teacher. He is the nicest teacher I've encountered since being at New Paltz. His stories are entertaining, and he knows the material. As long as you read the book, you should get an A.

Please do not tarnish people's reputations on here (In reference to 1/5 comment). Dr. Karasik is undoubtedly a wonderful professor. His classes may be a tad on the easy side but you will definitely learn a great deal. It is quite obvious that he loves his job because rather than being paid in green, adjuncts are compensated in brown (dirt).

Whoever compared Dr. K to Drs. Nash and Vazquez has a few screws loose. Those two and Dr. Freeman are probably the worst in the department.I loved abnormal.

This guy is great for Abnormal, but not for Social Problems. Social Problems is an undergraduate, non-writing intensive course, and he assigned a 35 page project. However, his requirements for Abnormal are more reasonable, and I would take him for Abnormal, not Raskin.

I guess you folks really want to learn and that is admirable. I say this because he does read these comments and will adjust the class structure accordingly knowing that people do not read the text. This would be a good time to mention that cheating runs rampant on exams. Dr. Karasik is quite good though, rating on par with Nash and Vazquez.

He is a great professor and very qualified to teach this course. He has a lot of experiance in the field and his classes are very interesting. Take GOOD notes in this class and you do not have to read the text. Although the third test is straight from the book and I am pretty sure he recycles his exams. Great class great professor!

If you are looking for a challenge, move on or be bored. If you want to learn some pretty basic information, stay and enjoy. The light workload makes me sorry that I didn't sign up for more than 18 credits. Dr. Karasik is WONDERFUL, I just wish he could make the course a bit more demanding.
