I loved this professor. I went out of my way to take her classes. Passionate about teaching and English literature, she was always willing to listen and help and accessible after class.

I took her English 350 and English 356 classes. Very boring, loves what she does though. Said bad things about me to another student who told me, marked with a strong bias. Overall, very unimpressed with her teaching and how she treated her students.

It's true that the class is difficult, but if you show up to class, keep up with reading and take notes, you'll be fine. She was very helpful, always available when you needed help with essays or assignments. She has a very thorough understanding of what she is teaching!! Really good prof.

Boring, does a lot of reading to the class. Knows her stuff but repeats the same points a million times (you would think this would be good, but it isn't). Sometimes gives useless feedback to essays. There are better profs at Concordia.

Wonderful professor. Really really really knows her stuff and explains it well (and apparently she's a world-renowned Dickens scholar, too). I probably learned more in WRI300 than any of the other courses I took, ever. It was great even for a science student like me, and it benefitted me in many other courses (and even in med school applications!)

I agree Glancy's classes are horribly boring! I fell asleep all the time....she also gives good marks to a few suck ups in the class. Im very disappointed because I tried my hardest in this class and finished with a terrible mark bringing my gpa down. She is definitely an unfair marker

Glancy certainly knows her material well and has lived in England, which I believe has helped solidify her understanding of the texts. Her insights are clear and interesting, although she is a hard marker. Yes her jokes can be lame but not everyone is a comedian. And sometimes she can seem a little critical or rude but it's nothing personal.

Dr. Glancy cares about her students, their success & the material she teaches. She's an amazing professor & person. She makes Eng. history fun/entertaining & goes above & beyond for you. Her expectations are high & her marking's hard but it encourages you to have high expectations of yourself. I don't think such a gem should be allowed to retire!

Glancy is horrible!! NEVER take a class with her. Anyone who has given a good rating is a suckup and not necessarily good in english. Glancy is unfair, and most definietely unattractive!! She is the WORST teacher i have encountered at Concordia!! Her class is BORING and puts you to sleep, and her attempted jokes are even worse!!

Probably worth noting that these reviews almost all stem from 100-level classes - i.e. derelicts, no-hopers, the take-English-once-get-the-credits-and-jet set. Glancy's good: she's sharp, she's fair (as long as you're not crap), and she knows what she's talking about. So she isn't floored by your never-before-heard analysis of Eliot. Suck it up.
