She teaches poorly, her tests are nothing like hw / book problems. Loves problems with nat logs & e^(...) She drones, very few ppl attend class, her tests are extremely difficult, she is hard to listen to, and she does not care whether she fails 50%+ of her students. If you wish to take cal and maintain a good GPA, do NOT take this professor.

Adding to my below comment - 500 character limit - she gives very good partial credit on quizzes and tests. Make sure you know your material though. Additionally, homework is only good for learning the concepts: it makes up 20 points out of 500 for the semester (common to all TTU math classes). One final word of warning: calculators are not allowed in math classes at TTU. We only used our calculators once, and that was when finding the precision of answer to 6 decimal places.

Comment:

Before taking calculus at TTU, I had only ever done pre-calculus in highschool. The only reason I went into calculus was because of my ACT math score and math at TTU was a rude awakening. This class was not easy for me, nor was it designed to be. To do good in this class, do your homework, take detailed notes (I have a 3 inch binder half full) and go to her office if you have trouble grasping a concept. She will readily help you. I went from failing to earning a B by doing what I just described.

Comment:

Dr. Le Borne is the best 1910 teacher at TTU. She has a trace of an accent, but it is not an issue at all to understand what she is saying. She spends twenty minutes of every class simply responding to questions from the class. You will learn the concepts well, and your grade will more than likely depend on your Algebra background. TAKE THIS CLASS!

I feel like I have learned everything I need to learn but my grade does not reflect this. She is a good teacher and she knows her stuff but her quizzes make you want to jump off Butler Hall. You will know the concepts but they are loaded with curve balls and complex algebra that will throw you way off. Stick with it and don't get discouraged!

Get used to her accent. It's German. It's not as though she's from Mars. Dr. Le Borne is easy to understand and teaches the class well. Just make sure to go to class and do your work and you'll do fine!

very good teacher and explains all of the problems well but quizes are brutal.homework is a breeze and she makes examples seem easy but when you get to the quizes its a whole new ballgame. overall great teacher you'll know the material but its hard to make an A

Dr. Sabine teaches very well, but also she has extremely hard exams. Our class started with 40 students, 10 of the students dropped the class, and 15 students got F in her class. If you want to get a good grade, try to avoid here because you're going to waste your time with some stupid questions that she gives.
