Comment:

Sal is an awesome teacher. He is quirky, but an extremely caring teacher. He goes above and beyond if you need help. He gives extra credit before every test. Before every quiz and every test he hands out a practice paper with all of the same questions that are on the test (literally the same order, different numbers). Sal is an amazing teacher!

I've taken calc in high school and I still am doing badly in his class. Way too difficult especially for students with no calc background. His notes and website can be helpful though but it would be nice if he actually offered office hours.

Very hard class. Professor gives notes and examples, but his examples have mistakes and he skips steps on them, makes it difficult to follow along. Knows the class doesn't understand the material, but still gives very difficult quizzes without giving enough time to learn the material. He will get angry if you try and go to the bathroom during class

Calc I with Gambino is the most difficult class I've taken at Marist. He is very unclear in his lectures, has no office hours, and often does not understand questions asked by students. He does give answers to quizzes and homework but they do not help because the lectures do not make sense. I would advise not taking this professor.

Prof Gambino cares so much& you can tell that he is absolutely in love with math. He promotes his own website like 800 times but honestly the notes he writes on it are amazing if you don't understand the material. He gives so many handouts (notes, study guides, practice, etc) & is ready to help absolutely anyone who asks. Definitely recommend!!

I took Calc 1 in high school & was really good at it. This class however was extremely hard but I did fine because I remembered everything from high school but I saw many students around me struggle. He's really funny and such a nice guy but is not very clear. He is extremely smart though and knows his stuff. He will definitely help you if you ask

Professor Gambino has been the best professor I ever had at Marist. Really helped me get a better appreciation for mathematics as a whole. His lectures are important but if you follow his review sheets you will be fine for exams. Quizzes are super important after they've accumulated. This professor is truly a stand-up guy and very knowledgable.

He is impossible to get through to if you have a question or concern about the class, and the lessons drag on but he gives you printed out notes every class and a quiz once a week. He gives you quiz "hints" and some practice problems and hints for exams and extra credit too. Also he gives no mandatory homework. So i guess it's easy to get an A

Easy grader and no mandatory homework, but he has 0 office hours. Maybe it's just me but I consider that important. Literally the only time to get help from him is right before class, which is at 8am because he's nocturnal. If you like getting help from your professors, don't take him.

He is VERY helpful! Gives you printed out notes at the beginning of each class. Textbook homework every night but he never checks it. Quiz once a week - gives you hints online (which are like exactly the question to be asked). Final was multiple choice and he also gave us hints for that. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Great professor, nice guy, always wants to help and wants everyone to do well. Lots of quizzes, but they are easy (multiple choice) and they help you keep up w/ the material. Always sends hints and practice tests (just changes the numbers), so as long as you try you'll do fine.

Good teacher, really nice and always helpful. sends tons of emails with hints and probs to help u out. not too hard, jus do ur work and ask questions, but definately study for tests. if u wanna understand calc, he'll do the job.
