Comment:
Dr. Abrash is funny, kind & serves as a mentor to his students. He generously posts all of his lecture notes online. The course follows the curriculum of AP chem & is familiar to those who have been exposed. The exams are straight forward, especially if you do the practice tests prior & even so he usually curves the grades.

Dr. Abrash is super knowledgeable and it shows. P. Chem. II is tough and abstract, but Dr. Abrash really tries to make you understand and is super helpful outside of class. His tests are predictable as long as you do his practice tests and even when they're not, he curves very kindly.

ENVR201 is reading-heavy and open-discussion-based, which can be a bit dull at times. However, Professor Abrash is a really nice teacher. He tells a joke at the beginning of each class, and is really personable. Don't be afraid to talk to him about any concerns that you may have: he'll listen.

Explains stuff quickly and not clearly. Its more helpful to not go to class and read his lecture notes that he posts online which he reads off word for word in class.

Definitely take this to fulfill science requirement--even if you don't know a thing about chem you can do well. He lets you use homework on your tests, gives you old tests to study from, and will tell you what to study in the pre-test study sessions. Very helpful professor & if you do the work, you will do well. Also very relaxed attendance policy.

He is everything that a professor should be. He gave us handouts at the beginning of class with lots of info and read through them. He cares about students and wants them to do their best. He always wants to help and always knows what he's talking about. I am not a science person, but Dr. Abrash's lab session was bar none the finest.

Prof Abrash is a great guy- always willing to help. For 110, he procided old tests to 5 years back that made studying very simple. He wants you to understand do well, not pound concepts into your brain. He's a quirky guy, but interesting to learn from and he knows his stuff
