Comment:
Dr. Dyer is a wonderful professor and COM379 has been a fairly easy class. He isn't always super specific, but as a student, it is your job to ask questions and for clarification if you are confused. If you are a decent writer and go to class, you will do well in class. He offers rewrites and is specific when he tells you what needs to be fixed.

You have to be a real laggard to fail one of Dr. Dyer's classes. I took three classes with him during my undergrad. Some say he grades his paper's hard, but you'll get an A if you follow his specific instructions (e.g., plethora of sources, AP format, etc..) Go to class, don't be a laggard, and you're guaranteed AT LEAST a B.

Dr. Dyer is a funny guy and great person, but I didn't prefer him as an instructor. His assignment outlines are very vague and then he counts off points for not doing things that he never even told you to do. It was very difficult to get above a 92 on a paper or presentation. The lectures were boring to me, and I also just didn't like the subject.

Hardest course I've taken. The tests are confusing, even the GA said she struggled with them. Concepts are difficult to grasp and Dyer flies through them, hard to retain any lecture info. I recommend reading each chapter before the lecture. Discussion boards are twice a week & must be APA format with multiple sources, odd but I suppose easy points

I really enjoyed this class with Dr. Dyer. He gives inspirational lectures and honestly wants you to succeed after you graduate. Attendance is not mandatory, but he promises if you never miss a class, he will write you a recommendation letter for anything. He is a goofy professor, that's for sure, but he makes class entertaining.

One word I would use to describe Dr. Dyer is weird. Not necessarily in a bad way. You are graded on one paper and two presentations. The class is very easy and laid back! He can be unclear with deadlines and grading criteria, but you will get an A anyway if you just do the work. He even told my class that no one has ever received anything but an A.

This class was pretty much a cake-walk. Just show up. There's one paper and two in-class presentations that you'll have to do - he gives everyone at least and A on them. Lectures are fun and interesting. He always has something to say, and it's usually pretty funny. Overall, great guy would take classes from him again.

The absolute best. One of those teachers who teaches you about life more than anything. He really believes you can be anything you want to be and is truly inspirational. Classes are not hard, but require a lot of writing. My favorite teacher by far at MSU.

Dyer is a very interesting teacher. He is funny and you really don't do much in class. All we had was one project with a partner and a final paper that was 8-10 pages. It wasn't a bad class

Dr. Dyer is a really fun teacher. He is entertaining in class and makes it interesting. He is, however, very confusing and his power points are more for him than you. READ THE BOOK and talk with the grad students for help. Don't worry if you fail all his tests, just make sure you do all the discussions and ace your project.

Lectures were very vague, had little to do with the real world, and testing was right from the book. The instructor vasillated from sounding like a right wing capitalist to a left wing socialist. Very confusing. His teaching skills were lacking, and he had lots of trouble controlling his class room. This could and should be just an online course.

Great Professor! Really knows his stuff and his goal is to really help you make money. He's straight up and honest, also hilarious. His lectures don't always teach much, but read the chapters and look at the power points fo the test and you'll be fine.

Very funny professor. Awesome guy who teaches an eclectic mix of things. His class is a little hard for a UHC (couple papers, couple presentations), but given how awesome he is it really isn't that big of a deal. Also, if you are concerned about grades being low, don't worry too much. As long as you do the work well you get an A.

Very funny. Talks a lot, but is very knowledgeable. Offers a lot of guidance for the future. Very little homework; one or two research papers and a final "test". Definitely take atleast one of his classes.
