Comment:
I knew Python before taking his class. He makes many mistakes and is misleading at times. Python is easy to learn but Sam is not a good teacher. It seems he doesn't understand the topics himself. Some of his analogies were very good and funny. Take him but study on your own. Fortunately, he is an easy grader and often doesn't catch mistakes/errors

Dr. Sam is a great prof. His lectures aren't too bad but are definitely needed to understand the material. He uses funny and helpful references to help understand coding. Fairly easy grader. small open note quizzes about each chapter every week. Midterm and final open note. He's willing to help you with code although you have to work for it.

Professor Sam is the best coding teacher I've ever had. He's hilarious! Anyways, he really eases you in on programming logic and building some understanding of how Python works. I recommend coming in with some previous experience as it will help along the way. There are a lot of resources online to learn some Python basics. He's a great teacher.

An a for this class is 93% or above. I was in the borderline for most of the semester, and I asked for extra credit (which he was supposed to hand out). Despite having experience in programming before, I ended up with a 92% which is a B. The whole semester he taught very little while putting too much emphasis on doing flowcharts the "right" way.

Hybrid class. Sam did a great job of having a lot of visuals in terms of videos or hands on hardware to learn about the computer hardware we were learning about. Great at answering questions. The class itself was not too hard it was just a lot of information. Overall great teacher and great course.

Sam is a great professor. Extremely nice and funny. I had to take the class for my program, but if you don't have to take it, don't. It was the most basic and elementary computer class ever.. Didn't learn anything. Super easy to say the least. I found the class to be pretty much useless, but if you have to take it, take it with Sam.

Took the class during fall 2001. Sam was one of the best teachers that I've had at COD. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, fair, approachable, very nice guy. A small issue with communication at rare times. I learned a great deal, and I rate him highly.
