Sam is a tough teacher compared to the average, that is only because most teachers in the department are teaching basic knowledge and grade very easy. Try to actually learn on his projects and youll be amazed. If you cant swing it then dont go into the field of computer science to work. I hated the 400lvls at first.

Started class on May 16th, got home from work to learn I not only missed the deadline for an assignment and quiz; I missed the start time. Took an online course in hopes for a bit of convenience and being able to take it around my schedule. Turns out, this professor believes that nearly no window is the best window of opportunity for students.

Thangiah is the toughest professor you'll have in my opinion, but he's very knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches. Prepare for pop quizzes, he'll getcha when you least expect it. Would recommend 10/10.

Dr. Sam is a great teacher. He's very strict, but it's worth it. He's not mean, he's just intimidating. The way I see it, he's supposed to be your teacher, not your friend. He likes to give pop quizzes, so you have to know the material. He has you do a group project and typically makes it bonus, so if you actually work, you'll prob pass the class

Definitely one of the toughest professors I've ever taken. We got pop quizzes all time about stuff we hadn't talked about in weeks and he took off a considerable amount of points for being late. He has an odd philosophy about programmers needing to be perfect and is very meticulous in his grading.

By far the toughest professor i've ever had. This does not make him a bad professor though. He has many pop quizzes and that's where most of your grade will come from. You need to stay up to speed and understand thoroughly everything he teaches, as hostile as he seems, he WILL help you if you're confused. Very difficult but will learn a lot.

Dr. Thangiah is a cool guy. He is strict with attendance: Miss one day, and you miss points automatically... But it's with purpose - you MUST learn everything and understand what is going on or you'll fail. He is fun in class though, so it's easy to go. I had him for an hour and fifteen minutes and it FLEW by. I totally recommend! Heavy bonus too.

Dr. Sam is one of the best professors I've ever had. His attendance policy can be tough, but because of his pop quizzes, it's necessary. You will learn a ridiculous amount in his classes and he will go out of his way to prepare you for employment. He's also hilarious so it's very easy to pay attention.

Dr. Sam is very funny and likes incorporating his sense of humor into his lectures, so sitting through them is usually entertaining. Make sure you take notes, make sure you read the book. Make sure you don't miss class unless you're dying. He gives pop quizzes, so make sure you review your stuff daily. He's very helpful when asked for clarification

good professor. routing algorithms are important for everyone's career, and i didn't realize that until after i started interviewing for jobs. sam is a beast, and i'm very fortunate to have had him for a professor - especially in a class like opsys. my OOP skills are through the roof now thanks to his projects and it's already opening doors for me.

You need to show up for his class. You need to write down everything that he puts on the board. And you need to go over everything in your notebook before every class. Not easy. But a lovely Professor. Really funny and obviously knows what he's doing. If you get on his good side and interested in the material, you will most likely pass.

Worst professor I had at SRU. He was not helpful, he gave unclear directions, he made you show up early for class or you would be marked absent, and you basically had to teach yourself the class material. I will not be taking another one of his classes. Take another professor if you can.

Dr. Sam is not the easiest of proffessors, however, you LEARN alot. He loves giving pop quiz to keep you on your toes. Its madatory that you don't miss class 1 time, but that is not hard because he is so funny that going to class is not that bad. Write down EVERYTHING he says on your notebook and you can get an A.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. The man should not be teaching. Unclear directions, terrible communication, barely any time to complete online quizzes and exams, doesn't review open answer questions that are graded by the software, and accuses of cheating when IP addresses don't match up. Going to the head of the department about this professor.

Terrible professor. Took an online class with him. Doesn't give enough time to finish quizzes/tests. Assignments are time consuming and not worth many points. Not helpful at all and accuses students of cheating because he doesn't understand that IP addresses can change. Never take a class with this professor.

He is the worst and most inconsiderate professor I've ever had. I had him for productivity software and got a C. He makes you do stupid assignments and doesn't give you points for them, but will take off points if you don't do them. He takes off 10 points for every missed class, and doesn't even give you one free miss.
