Professor Dayal is a great person: nice, interesting and tries to be funny. But it is impossible to get an A on his papers, no matter how hard you try. No book to buy or tests, only about 4 surprise quizzes on the readings. There are 4 papers + a presentation. Get ready to read! There's a complex article assigned each class.

Dayal is an amazing professor, with a vast knowledge in cinema. Do not get offended in his class, it's an open discussion atmosphere and he's very open to different opinions. Homework is to watch movies and read essays on the movie, midterm and final are papers and movie questions. Very fun class, would definitely take again.

Dayal is an amazing professor. I have never taken a class where I had a professor care this much about his students. It sounds like an easy class, but it is not,so if you are taking it to get an easy A, don't. You have to work for it. He is an amazing guy and very funny.

I didn't goto a single one of his office hours, didn't work that hard and I still came out with a 3.3. Basically if you watch the movies and read a few of the papers you'll do fine. People just expected a simple class where they could do nothing and this wasn't that kind of class. It was a rewarding class and I'm not a huge fan of classes at all.

I disagree with the negative ratings, especially claiming he is "arrogant" & "useless". Prof.Dayal is extremely educated & knowledgable, but I never got the impression he was arrogant. Arrogant. Very arrogant, looked forward to the class and ended up dreading it. He had the class do a service learning project that had nothing to do with the class but was footwork for his own thesis paper. A VERY arrogant man! Does not respect his students and will ruin your GPA. If you miss 1 class, you will lose 5 points off your grade. He does not give papers, and there is no way you can do well in his class unless you agree entirely with his opinions. He should not be teaching at Bentley! He is nowhere near the type of professor students deserve!
