I've had him for multiple classes. He will definitely expand your mind by forcing you to push beyond surface level questions. He is friendly and engaging in all of his classes. His tests are straight forward, typically essays or papers. He's pretty fair when it comes to grading. Don't buy the books until you confirm he's actually going to use them.

Really learned a lot in his class. He made me think. The papers I wrote for him stretched my mind in a good way. Interesting note - I was in his class the morning of 9/11 when we heard about the WTC. We had just been talking about Islam.
