Comment:

class is 99.9% lecture and the tests are unreasonably difficult for the course. The homework is pretty easy though, and if you do well on all assignments, test scores will not matter too much. He's not a very exciting individual so if you are looking for interesting, I would pass on it. I simply took it because it was required.

Comment:

I did not like this class at all. His lectures are so boring. He reads PowerPoints word-for-word in this monotone voice and it's so boring. No one hardly shows up to class, as it's not mandatory and he posts the lecture notes online. If there's another professor you can take, go with the other option.

I'm not a fan of this being an online course. You have to do a 3-4 page paper each week about an environmental problem. The rubric is online for what he wants from you, however he doesn't give any feedback other than a grade. So unless you actively ask him you will never know what it is that you have done wrong. 10 papers 10% of your grade each.

Comment:

Mostly did in class activities, relating to our service learning or Water Shed Plan. Sometimes the online explanations were poor leading to some confusion, however he would answer questions. Scheduling issues with tree planting component of service learning were present. Two papers, one presentation, not overly difficult. Could have been better.

The class itself was very easy. We followed along with the book A Civil action. We read the book and answered questions on it during class. We watched the movie and then compared the two medias with each other in the paper. Lots of writing but not too bad. Doesn't grade too hard and you get our early for a lot of the classes.

He is a super easy teacher. As long as you do the work you should get an A. You don't have to go to class because the lectures are 100% useless, but attendance is a grade. All the work is online and you just google the answers.

Worst professor I have ever had. Boring lectures and useless labs, easy class till he slams a final on you with info from the book you've never once been taught. Do not take if you have a desire to actually learn, he teaches nothing. I think it's time for him to retire. If you enjoy googling take this class cause that's all you do

Boring, awkward, monotone, and the class is just not enjoyable in the slightest. The lectures drag on and it's really difficult to pay attention. The material and required readings aren't much better. He also won't look at the class, just looks everywhere else. Good class to waste time in or work on homework for other classes.

Very easy if you do all the work. I thought the material was interesting. Sam has a good sense of humor, but most say he is boring. Good professor, he just seems worn out. I got a B but only because I didn't buy the book, so I guessed on all the test questions.

By far the Easiest class I've ever had. The only complaint I can think of is that he seems to be some sort of 'Al Gore' clone. If you can stay awake long enough you may turn into one yourself.

Well, there are some good, and some bad things I can say about this teacher. One good thing is that he helps you if you just go and ask him. No attendance policy. The only thing I really don't like in the class is that he makes it impossible for you to get a 100% on any assignment you turn in. But there are a lot of labs, so you can get an A easily

He's a very nice guy. His lecture is VERY boring and it's hard to stay awake. But he grades easy, is understanding, and realizes you have other classes. He also lets you out of class early a lot. I would recommend him :)All exams are essay form.

Sam is a very nice and reasonable instructor. He really likes what he teaches and he makes info easy to understand. His tests and assignments are fair and he realizes his class is not the only one you are taking. I would recommend!
