During the semester with him, despite my loathing of math, he helped me realize it isn't so bad and by the end of the class I ended up liking it. He clarifies everything very well, he has a lot of control over the class and he even occasional cracks a funny joke. We'll miss you Prof. Selvin!

He is not really a university level prof - he lacks the intelligence and knowledge that you find among most unibversity professors in math or physics. He is probably best suited for a high school or elementary school. I get the impression he cares more about being popular with his students than giving them a real education.

I personally didn't enjoy Selvin's class, I wished he would take more time for questions and explanations rather than just lecturing straight through. However if you get stuck he's very willing to help outside of class, probably one of the most accessible profs on campus.

Amazing professor. Made calculus fun and as easy as it could be. He was very nice and very friendly inside and outside or class whenever questions were asked. Asigns a lot of homeork but if you do it all you'll be so prepared studying will be minimal and very easy. take his class if you can!

Great prof! Everyone said that Cal is a hard...well do the HW he assignes, and you'll do fine. Don't forget to ask him for sample test papers. I liked Cal 1 with prof. Selvin so much that I went ahead and took Cal 2 with him, instead of Staticis, and I pulled off an excellent grade.
