Comment:
The lab was interesting, but you literally had to memorize every single thing written in the lab book. Sandra was a bit snippy; she'd answer my questions but always act like I was a total idiot for having to ask. However, you also have the TA to work with, and mine was both nice and helpful.

the teachers great, the lab is bad. the lab book had so much vocab that it doesnt actually explain; few definitions are given for anything. its a lot of detail. the exams are hard.

The amount of memorization for this lab is beyond your what your mind will allow you to comprehend for a second year lab. Thankfully you can intuit some of it, like muscle function. Sandra herself is nice but not forgiving to dumb questions. No one is joking when they say you must memorize the content of the lab manual cover to cover.

She takes half an hour at the start of every lab to go over exactly what is written in the manual. Then she doesn't help you when you have a question.

The lab has tons of material and is alot of memorization. Try to use the 3 hour lab time to actually learn the material because the lab test tend to be on the more practical aspect, ie. "name this muscle and it's function". Ask alot of questions during labs. Sandra is actually very nice and helpful, and really knows her stuff!

I found her to be pretty nice most of the time and answered the questions we asked. Having 2 lab exams was definately a good idea because there is tons of info. Oh and yes you really DO need to know the whole lab manual. I'm no keener but you really should try to learn from the labs. You'll be glad on the exams if you tried during labs.

If I could skip every lab of the term, and still get class averages on all of the lab exams, its obvious she isn't doing her job well.

Glad she changed the system from last year! 2 labs exams lowers the memorizing load! Just memorize all you can then fall back on the 10 bonus marks you get for showing up for each lab! The lab component raised my grade in this course as opposed to previous years. Appreciate the bonus marks!

I personally think that she isnt that unfreindly at all, even though I, too, as the TAs most of the questions. well. the class material is just pure memorization anyways, just memorize everything on the lab manual and try to recognize things on the exams. It should be fine htat way.

She was very moody, unapproachable, and did not want to answer any lab-related questions. Many ended up doing poorly in the labs which ended up screwing up their final mark. Ultimately, the lab and the lab exam are screwed, big time.

do yourself a favor and ask the TA's first... and also ask another TA if you still don't understand... actually... just don't even bother approaching her... she will yell and confuse you @ the same time... BTW: good luck with the course! you'll need it...

This professor is the most inconsiderate prof I have ever met. She is condescending and acts like her courses are the best. They're the most boring ones ever, and her exams are impossible. The worst part is, she doesn't have a phD. Get a life Sandra.
