Very nice woman, knows sooo much about every type of art. Very helpful and easy to meet with outside of class for extra help. Prep for class and do your work and you will make a good grade. If you don't do her assingments...she will not pass you. I learned a lot. Thank you!

Yes, she is a sweet lady but we still had to do our homework assignments and prep for class. My lost classmates usually were the ones who didn't do the work before class to get ready and wanted a good grade just for showing up. Ever

I took Drawing 1 with her and I definitely learned A WHOLE LOT. She's a great drawing teacher if you are willing to really work at it. Maybe not for the other classes but definitely take her for Drawing. She's a sweet lady.

Changes project requirements all the time, doesn't explain anything, never replies to emails or provides help, projects are a waste of time, the only thing I learned was how to use the pen tool. Take Prof. Cannon!!! Avoid Pro. Oughten/Slayton at all costs!

Space case. Out of touch with the industry trends, not to mention industry standards. Always blames the computer for her ineptness. Not smart. Not worthy of imparting design knowledge. Most students could actually teach her Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Sad, really.

Her assignments never worked correctly, and she seemed to be slow in seeing what should have been easy to spot. Her descriptions were rather vague, though she does help you and gives advice when you want it. She is rather quiet in the noisy room, and is hard to hear. Her teaching assistant is also a witch, when Oughton is not available.

I hated this class. Handouts constantly either didn't work or contained inaccurate infromation. Sometimes we would have to wait up to 15 minutes for her to load the correct files we needed for our projects because she didn't check them before class and either put up the wrong ones or forgot to post them at all.

Ms. Oughton is a very sweet lady, and she really cares about her students and their well being in the class, but she lacks in the area of "getting her message across." Her lectures are somewhat vague. I really beleive that she knows what she is doing, but can't always convey that to students.
