Comment:

This class is a lot of work, but it's not extremely difficult. Make sure you understand what is being taught because she gives quizzes a lot and they're timed. Be prepared to have a lot of homework. Test questions aren't meant to trick you. She is very helpful during office hours so go to them! Get on her good side and you'll be fine.

Comment:

Sandy is pretty genuine, she's funny and knows how to teach. She walks through the problems and if you do her homework and study you can do very well. A lot of people hate her but I think she's a solid choice, especially if you actually want to learn.

Comment:

Her class is hard, but I love Mrs. Wood. Her lectures are always very helpful, and they're online so you can access them outside of class. However, attendance is mandatory, so if you don't come to class then you're not gonna do well. Definitely enjoyed this class, it serves as a way to weed out engineering majors who don't want to put in effort.

Gives EXCESSIVE amounts of homework, which is 10x harder than the lecture examples. Very tough grader. Takes off for every little thing that is not perfect. Quizzes to be expected almost daily. Not a very approachable person. I would absolutely encourage students to find a different instructor for this class.

Quizzes and homework everyday. Homework is 10x harder than class material/tests. This class is purely to weed people out and she does a great job of it.

Very tough grader and everything has to be done EXACTLY the way she does it. Compared to the other professors who teach Engr103, Wood gives a lot of homework most of which is busy work.

I took this class a year ago with Sandy Wood, and I'm here leaving another review to warn you NO Do not take this teacher. Just unbelievably cruel. Real life version of Cinderellas evil stepmom. Had to leave class early one day for a family emergency, and she literally did 3 pop quizzes because she saw me leave. Evil!

Mrs. Wood gives you so many assignments and pop quizzes. She teaches stuff that isn't on the homework or the tests. Not sure how she expects you to do well on the tests. Be prepared to always be confused. Other instructors are said to be much easier/better. Get out if you can. One perk is that she is always willing to help outside of class.

ENGR103 with Professor Wood has been on of the most challenging experiences of my entire education career. Get ready for homework upon homework, quizzes once or twice a week, and nightly reading and practice assignments. The only positive, really, is that she is always willing to meet with students to help and gives extra credit.

boring and not really all to kind when you go and ask for help from my personal experience anyway. Went to class almost everyday and reading the textbook was more helpful than anything she ever said. She doesn't teach everything and makes you go teach it to yourself online from practice problems then expects you to know them on the test.

ENGR 103 is a lot of comprehensive material. All the teachers give the same test. She 100% covers the material and gives the same amount of homework. She just expects it to be done correctly and on time. If you put in effort you will be fine

I honestly was not upset about taking this class. Of course this class is hard, that's the point, but she was not an awful teacher. As long as you show her the respect you want, she was a fine teacher. No major complaints.

Wood is not as bad of an instructor as her score on here indicates. She teaches the material well enough that you should have little trouble understanding. She does however give excessive amounts of homework and quizzes. There are better instructors for this course, so try to get one of them. But if you are stuck with her, you'll be fine.

Almost everyone hates Wood, but she's not so bad. Tons of homework and quizzes, but that also means if you do bad on one it doesn't hurt you much. Also she gives out WAY more extra credit than other teachers. Wood can be condescending, but if you pay attention and don't sleep in her class, she's usually pretty nice to you.

Dr. Wood is tough- but she's a phenomenal ENGR103 teacher. She gives out a lot of homework and graded assignments, but if you do them all the exams are a breeze. I actually learned the material in the class thanks to her, whereas my friends with other profs struggled on exams and with the material. She rocks.

Sandra wood makes this class way more difficult then needed. there is an excess of almost impossible homework that barely relates to lecture and she is not the nicest person to approach for help. she puts some trick questions on tests and even some that are taught on the next section.

ENGR 103 is not a difficult class by nature. It is a review of common physics concepts taught in high school. What is difficult is Sandy Wood. Asking for clarification on a problem results in being patronized. Tests reflect the material expected to be learned, but rarely are things covered in detail sufficient to exceed. Avoid at all costs.

I've been in this class for about a month and it's the most stressful class I've ever taken, and I already have a degree. She knows, at least a bit, what she's talking about, but she does not prepare you for the homework in any way and expects you to have an intimate knowledge of engineering concepts before entering the class. Unnecessarily tough.
