This guy is easily the worst professor I have ever encountered. Ever. Sets tests, forgets them. Springs tests randomly (I am OCD organized. I DON'T forget test dates). He sets projects, and forgets them. Grade letters are arbitrary. Very smart guy, but he needs to leave teaching.

Professor Sticca is a teacher who genuinely cares about his students and wants them to do well. He will make himself available if you ask. That being said, he expects you to do your share of work. He expects you to study every night for a decent amount of time- and you will need to do that if you want a decent grade.

Sticca is a really sweet and knowledgeable man, but as a professor he's sort of all over the place. You'll do well if you study hard and participate in class; show him you actually care, because that's definitely what he values most. He'll also like you if you go to his office hours. He's VERY disorganized though, and often unclear on what he wants

He would not stick to the syllabus, and he would give quizzes on vocabulary and readings that were never assigned. If you ask him to help you out for a paper, he will help you the best he can, but he is very unorganized. He is a sweet man, but not an effective teacher. He values effort and participation.

Sticca will make you hate whatever you're reading in his class. He asks the class comprehension questions which if you get wrong, he accuses you of not having read. He will drop assignments on you and forget about it later, only to give you a 0 on your final grade sheet. There is also no way to judge how you are doing in the class.

A horrible teacher in every sense of the word. Learned nothing in his class. He was incredibly unorganized, assigned assignment and then forgot about them, asked for you to hand in assignments that he never assigned, etc. He will forget about the class when he is teaching and start talking to the window for 20 mins. If you have a love for french then you will enjoy this class. While he does go off in tangents, the topics he discusses are all relevant to gaining a better understanding of the language. I love class w Sticca bc he actually knows what hes talking about when it comes to french. He always quizzes on relevant material and the class is not difficult.

Gives you his vast background knowledge behind texts as a kind of framework for your own critical judgment. That's cool. What's NOT is the way he throws the syllabus out the window: it's infuriating. We followed it more closely after he left the country for a few weeks, when subs came to lecture! It's not to say we didn't miss him though.

He's a terrible teacher. He's very disorganized and gives teaching low priority compared to his research. His tests are not a good reflection of what you are learning in his class. Finally, even if you work hard in his class and have good attendance, his final grades are random and cannot be explained through any logical methods.

I heart Sandro. He's very nice, and makes everyone feel very comfortable speaking in front of the class. If you have late assignments, he always accepts them. You don't really learn that much and syllabus is non-existent.
