I'm so glad CSUN hired Todd to teach the 455B/C class cause he is crazy insightful. If you want to be a photographer, TAKE THIS CLASS! You can tell he loves what he does and really wants to help you grow as a photographer. You'll be working with studio lighting and he gives you the freedom to create your own photoshoots each project.

T.Bigelow took over when Dave Blumenkrantz went on Paternity leave. We still followed Blumenkrantz's curriculum. Todd is a cool professor. Really knows his stuff. More critical of work submitted than Blumenkrantz. However, was more specific of what he was looking for in a photo/photostory. Would tell you straight up what is good and not.

After taking his class I felt like I was a horrible photgrapher, he tends to be very negative and can be very aggressive when talking to students, even one on one

You will learn a lot and work very hard. Bigelow is extremely helpful one on one and in class. Don't take this class if you think it's going to be easy, take it if you are very interested in documentary subjects and want to improve your photo skills.

he seems nice at first but then expects you to be a professional photographer without any other classes. He is helpful one on one but not very much in a group setting. He is not very clear on what he wants from assignments or even whan assignments are due
