Comment:

She won't give you an easy pass, but she will develop your critical thinking by making you think way outside of the box. I think that her class helped me develop both as a student and an individual. People say not to take her if you have stress issues, I can see why, but I'm an anxious person and I appreciated her class.

I will admit that she knows her stuff but the way she portrays it makes even the best students want to walk out the door. I did the impossible to write great developed essays and still got criticized terribly and in front of other students no less. If you have anxiety issues DO NOT take a class with her.

I've taken three courses with Sandy. She's the best instructor on campus--not for the faint of heart. She's not very clear, but she speaks in a cryptic way that makes you dig for answers. She consistently goes out of her way to help you succeed: scholarships, cutting through bureaucracy, etc.

I wanted to enjoy this class, and sometimes I did, but she's very unforgiving and harsh, and if you have any kind of anxiety issues avoid her classes like the plague. She also has an aversion to telling you want she wants on papers and tests. The class is also very unstructured, so if you prefer lectures and notetaking give her class a miss.

Not the easiest, and she will certainly make you think. Little on the crazy side, but there is nothing more important to her than her students. She is very wiling to help outside the classroom with papers, readings, projects, concepts, etc. I recommend her, but be prepared...

Clarity is definitely not her strong side. At. All. I know students who have had her for years and still don't understand what she says. She isn't a bad person outside of class and is actually quite interesting, but when it comes to teaching, she doesn't do a good job at working at a student level. Also: she's not very concise if you ask questions.

While she will make you think and work hard for a good grade unlike other teachers that will let you breeze on by, she is very, very harsh. I think what irritated me the most is when she said in the foyer in front of her class that she thought I was pregnant. I wouldn't take another class with her.

If you are looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. If you are looking into challenging yourself (i.e. growing as a student and as a person) do not pass her up. You cannot just float on by in her classes, but if you immerse yourself in everything Dr. F has to offer, you will come out a different person. How many professors offer that?

I've had Dr. Feinstein for 2 classes. She is a wonderful professor, however she has no time for students who are not willing to apply themselves. She is VERY tough and demands a lot from her students, but it is only to help them succeed. She is by far my favorite professor at Berks. I highly recommend taking one of her classes if you like to work!

What an interesting person. I am still shock a person like herself existed and such a person is at PSU. Did not care much for her stories which had little to do with the class. Seem to not have time for anything else excepts for her club. She should look into couple courses in Teaching Theory to improve her professorship.

She took me on the most amazing trip of my life and I met some of the most amazing people. It was a chance I'll never have again. She always makes herself available to her students and is very approachable.

I had Prof. Feinstein for a first year seminar. We learned about her over-inflated ego, her various trips around the world, and all of her eccentric accomplishments. What did she teach? I haven't a clue. Disregard the taunts she slips into the "lesson," grovel at her feet and brown-nose your way into this woman's heart.
