classic example of why i hate english classes; subjective grading; if your interpretation clashes with hers, guess what happens to your grade - you lose! i spent more time on my final paper than i had any paper in my life and still i got a questionable grade. i got an A, but had to fight for it; more stress than it's worth; find another prof.

This was the most confusing class I have ever taken. One problem was that there was no consistency in the grading. I got a C on one paper that my wife (an english major from Bucknell) looked at. It almost seems like Mrs. Miller has a Napoleon complex. When she is available and not in TN.

ENG 271 was really time consuming and annoying, I don't recommend taking this class. Make sure you include every possible observation on your essays and you will get a good grade. IMO a great professor. I found her very helpful with all the questions I had regarding the course. She is a demanding teacher that expects you to put effort in your work; if you're looking for an easy English class you won't find it here.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! SHE THINKS SHE TEACHES ENG 400 LEVEL. SHE OVER ANALYZES EVERYTHING, NOTHING IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER. SHE WANTS EVERY SINGLE DETAIL. WAY TOO MUCH WORK AND POOR GRADE. SHE THINKS SHE IS A GENIOUS. PLS!!!!!!

She was impossible. Maybe if you're really into English than you'd like her but if you just need the credit don't take her. I had never gotten anything less than an A on a paper at NOVA and with her I was gitting C's and putting in a huge amount of work. I had four people look over a paper and I still got a C. I really dislike the women.
