she is one of the most intelligent teachers i've encountered; she has a vocabulary that rivals the greatest encyclopedia. she is an expert at editing literature, and she will ALWAYS find things wrong with your work (i would get a perfect score on some papers, though they were still marked up!). she is tremendously helpful to those who seek it!

Don't. Ask. Questions. She never answers them fully and rambles on about other unrelated subjects. She needs a companion to talk to...Grades good if she sees you are trying hard and have decent grammar. Although english has never been a difficult subject for me, i never had to rewrite anything for her and she seemed happy with anything i turned in.

Don't sit on the front row..she tents to spit when she laughs (or cackles). She will always find something wrong with your paper...I don't think anyone in our class got a 5 on a single paper the whole semester. Other than that...good class.

Very nice lady who really knows her stuff, but grades really hard. Class is really boring so you might want to bring a crossword puzzle. The best part of her class is when she cracks herself up while reading Henry James.

This was the hardest and most boring class I have ever taken. I put all the effort in the world into the class and continually got C's on papers (I'm a junior with a 4.0). Only after conferencing with her did she become reasonable and grade realistically.

She is overqualified for a lower-level english class. Class time was wasted with her rambling on about the assigned readings. Talking about one writer's work, doesn't help students write for themselves. She never fully answers questions, just rambles until you get so confused you give up.

Go to class every day!!!!! Attendance really helps your grade. Do all of the prewriting exercises, they actually count. She is a very hard grader. Make sure your first paper is good because she bases the rest of them on your first score.

You know she really wasn't that bad of a teacher. She grades hard though, so be prepared for that. She expects too much out of her students and should lower her standards a little. But other than that she's very approachable.

Simple. If you want to be a better writer, reader... take her classes. If not, there's easier teachers elsewhere. Hint: don't hesistate to ask, 'What the hell are you talking about.' She has a vocab bigger than the Oxford unabridged.

Dr. Daugherty is a fine teacher and WSU is lucky to have her. As for the person who found delight in recounting the "booger in the nose" incident --- go back to Jr. High.

She is very intelligent and knows what she is doing. I've learned so much from her class. She is humorous to watch, like one time she was teaching and had a booger in her nose the whole time. I do recommend her if you actually want to learn

Yes, she reads from her notes, but so what? It's good stuff. I had her for a graduate lit class and was nervous, but found her to be an outstanding teacher, and it was one of the best classes I had. Not easy, but I was glad I had her.

Has no focus and is dependent upon texts for answering questions. Her entire class/scholar structure seems to be based on arbitrary and esoteric parameters--perhaps she bifurcates the scholar from the teacher? Lacks coherency, clarity and orginizati

She's very nice, but do NOT take her class unless you're willing to work A LOT! You will have twice as much to do as most eng 101 classes, and she grades the essays VERY hard...she tries to meet w/ you if you ask for help.
