Comment:
Incredibly kind, but class was very boring. We were assigned about 4 readings every week, but hardly ever talked about them, so in the end, I stopped reading them. The movies were interesting, but her lectures by themselves were not.

Comment:
She is not confident in her WS101 class and tends to mumble and say um a lot. Her readings are unnecessarily long and super dense all to no gains as she explains in lecture the main points. She is a bore to sit through and honestly needs to learn how to lecture a class if you are going to introduce the likes of Judith Butler to the class.

Comment:
Prof frederick needs to learn how to speak proficiently. She mumbles and doesn't speak loudly even though she uses a microphone. She said "um" 300 times in one lecture, no lie. She has no confidence in what she's saying which is so frustrating. Also, the things we read are so boring and unnecessarily long.

Best reading list ever--Murakami, manga, watched Evangelion. Despite being a 400 level course, it was probably my easiest class, and the one I learned the most in. Definitely one of the nicest profs ever. And for an Ivy grad she empathizes a lot with BU teens. Not to mention she's fluent in Japanese. Really an amazing person, tho a wee bit awkward.

While not all of the readings are rivettin gnad some are a bit long, there are some good ones too. Also, Prof gives a good analysis and really helps you to see the quality that the works have to offer. She's also very nice, considerate and runs a nice class. She is a fair grader.

She's very nice, gives deadline extensions and is very helpful. Take the class if you already know something about Japan because it makes the class much more interesting. Papers aren't too difficult, but there is a lot of reading and sometimes it's boring. She's a fair grader.

Yeah, she's a super lady. The readings can be dry and boring and analyzing stuff in translation is never much fun, but at the end of the day it's a pretty easy class taught by a good professor. She knows her stuff and grades nicely.
