She is very knowledgeable in the information that she is teaching however this class is very difficult. There are many many essays and they are worth a lot. There is a writing assignment almost every week that usually include a documentary to watch that is at least an hour. Besides the midterm and final, there are no tests. Grades based on essays.

Absolutely terrible class. Most work I have had to do in my entire life. Tough grader and expects you to write 12 pages of notes every class period. Essay due every Sunday could be 300 to 750 words. While all of this is going on she expects u to write 3 larger essays throughout semester that are 1200, 1800, and 2400 words with 18 sources in each.

I've never written so much in my life. Lectures unorganized and lots of ranting. Sometimes makes you feel uncomfortable. Assigns a ridiculous amount of homework. Loves her job and is very knowledgeable but expectations very unclear. Doesn't answer email. Very difficult class and not one that most will enjoy.

she takes roll every day. Gives homework on weekends, every weekend. Makes you read a lot, talks non stop in class expecting you to write everything down, 3 pages of notes every day.

she gives tons of essay homework. makes you watch hours long videos for homework. she HATES questions. Kinda rude. Tests are essay format with no references. HARD tests. interesting but opinionated. Not very clear. I Spent many nights a week working on her assignments. be ready to WORK HARD. Know Chicago style format, that is all she uses.

Wrote 1-2 page papers weekly. Leans very far to the left and extremely feminist. Doesn't grade assignments until the end of the semester. Increased my research skills, but was stressed the entire time. Unclear expectations. However, she is very intelligent, just slightly scatterbrained. I wouldn't take her again, but her class was a good experience

She is a great teacher! I do not understand any bad ratings she has received. You do not write papers weekly as said above. We have written three papers over the combo of our textbook and three interesting novels. There is a term paper that is your own selection of topic. Read your material and you will be rewarded! Great Instructor!

She treats her class like this is the only class you have, meaning that she wants your complete attention. She is some what scatterbrained in lectures, but she is quite energetic and interesting even when off topic. She does not encourage questions, and hates stupidity. She is very opinionated and can come off as somewhat rude.

Her lectures are difficult to follow but she is very repetitive. Anything she says more than once PUT IT IN YOUR PAPER/RESPONSES. Definitely not an easy A. It's not impossible. You just have to work for your grade. She's very knowledgeable. There are two tests: midterm and final. They're both multiple essay tests.

Mrs. Wilkerson-Freeman discourages questions from students. She says she wants questions to be asked yet is short of yelling at them after a student asks a question. She does not have a good concept of time for homework. Homework assignments are lengthy and unrealistic for students taking a full course load.

If you don't like writing paper DO NOT take this class. Lectures are somewhat hard to follow. There are weekly homework assignments that are separate from the lectures and the only way to answer the homework is to watch 1-3 very loooong boring videos. Mid-term and Final are extremely hard.

I learned a lot from Dr. Wilkerson-Freeman. Her lectures are very informative...when she stays on topic and doesn't get distracted by politics or current events. She definitely leans to the left politically. There was a lot of reading but to keep costs down it was all articles. You need to do the reading. She definitely knows her stuff.

She was difficult to follow. All her assignments were paragraphs and we had to do several ten page essays. Although, she did grade the papers fairly easy. Just have to get the main points. Never let class out early.

She is a fairly easy teacher as long as you do the work. However, her lectures are very disorganized and she expects a lot of class participation. She really enjoys what she teaches, but her political bias is beyond extreme. If you have any conservative leanings whatsoever, be prepared to feel uncomfortable or outraged.

Incredibly hard. She does not give enough time for her essay test. She is smart, and i really enjoy her class. It is a challenge. She does not grade essays that hard though. She just wants you to have the materiel in them. I advise you to read all the text and know it well.

Very unprofessional and unintelligent. Thinks socialism is good and businesses are out to kill everyone. Class was about history, but all she talked about was modern politics. Hates the fact that Rush Limbaugh has 20 million people listening to him and Jesus Christ has hundreds of millions following him. There were only five people in the class.

Completely enamored with he sound of her own voice and is a little to proud of her own achievements. Don't worry you will get to learn all about them. Doesn't listen to her students, doesn't answer email, and you will have to tell things 5 or 6 times to get her to really hear it. Don't expect to learn anything in her classes.
