Professor, Doersch isn't a good explainer. She just assumes that you know what we are doing. The lectures were basically on the 3 in class finals that she was worried about. Honestly, I've learned nothing in her class this semester.

DO NOT SLACK. This class has a lot of reading and it is critical to stay on top of it. I fell behind for one week in the Short Story unit and it affected my overall performance. Otherwise, as an English major I loved this class.

This class was an easy A. You watch movies, documentaries, and read a variation of articles and other literature. It's nothing too heavy though. If you're passionate about feminist lit and analysis then this class will be a joy to take. Plus Prof. Doersch is easy to get ahold of and is active in discussion board.

If you're not good at writing and also aren't a fast learner, I highly suggest this professor! She teaches as if you're still a kid (in a good way) because she really puts in time on breaking down essays for you. Her lectures are very clear and her grading is not harsh if you pay attention. If she was teaching ENGRW 300, I would take her.

She is a good teacher to take for an online English class. She graded my papers tough but I learned a lot about critical writing from this teacher and would take her again if she taught another class I needed to transfer.

A little slow on grading but is understandable and extends essay due dates when she is behind on things. Very clear on what she wants. Best English professor I have taken so far. If I had taken the time to do the extra credit then I would've got an A. I enjoyed my first time taking an online class.

Professor Doersch is a good professor. I did get off to a slow start in her class, but eventually, I really got into it. She is a tough grader, but that's to be expected. Also, she kept me in the class when she could have dropped me, and gave me condolences when my father was due to pass away. I'd definitely recommend taking her class.

By far the second hardest Professor I have ever had! I seriously was struggling throughout the semester. Everything we do is due by 8AM and that should really be changed! She is a tough grader, she expects so much from online course students. She is nice though, I'll give her that. If you want to be challenged, definitely take her.

Definition of an average professor. She is at least open to feedback about how to run the class. Every class was 'read the story, discuss it in a group for an hour'. If you don't participate in discussion you will get docked major points. Average amount of writing required. Killed my enthusiasm for the class; would not take again.

She cares, but the flaw to the class is the grammar component. You are taught how to write a thesis paper. ESL students should take another prof. Attendance is MANDATORY miss 3 classes and you are OUT. Same goes for breaks. Textbook is sterile and expensive.Lazy tardy ones go elsewhere.

Online class: She is a decent teacher but one thing that is really hurting me right now is her grading. She has been grading my papers entirely too hard. Received an F on an essay because I hadn't fully communication ONE out of five criteria required.. I'm usually an A or B student.. it's quite frustrating...

Online class: She is very helpful in many ways. Her selection of stories are all excellent. She is detailed in what she expects in her essays & what she wants the class to understand overall. She doesn't baby people, she is prompt to answering ?'s. I recommend her if you want to learn how to think at a higher level than what meets the eye.

It feels like she babies the class. I mean, don't get me wrong, she's a good teacher to those who need help. . If you're late three times, she'll drop you from the course; she doesn't even make exceptions for family emergencies! If you like a lot of guidance through your class, take her class. If you're more independent, you'll regret taking her.

She is helpful in explain things when one does not understand. i personally say the way she taught wasnt a good way for me to learn. she is nice and kind and sweet. She is clear when she teaches at times. she isnt a bad teacher, she is quite good, but at times its was just hard for me to understand.
