The worst. He doesn't allow you to use a calculator and homework is never checked. He doesn't teach, he just writes on a piece of paper and talks. He doesn't explain how to do anything. Your grade depends on four tests, that's it. When I dropped it, the grading scale was curved horribly (65% A). Would not recommend.

Manageable professor if you need the class for a gen ed. Make sure you show up because he keeps track of attendance. Do all the online homework and quizzes and you should be fine. He is a little hard to understand at times, but you get used to it.

you cant hear him speak. he doesnt give exam reviews. more specifically, doesnt tell you what to study. he just says the things in the exam are the things youve been learning. the program mymathlab is where you do your homework, but the content on the program is nothing like the material he teaches you in class.

Awful class. I'm a junior and I had a 4.0 until this class. Professor can't explain his examples, so how does he expect us to? He often contradicts the textbook, insisting we do things his way. His tests are difficult and different than the homework problems that he assigns.

Fernando is a nice man, there should be no mention of his accent because he obviously speaks good English. However, the material is hard and he only grades you on your test scores. His style needs some alteration. Students who learn math, do so by practice, and what better place than in the classroom where you're being taught. Very Hard Class!

Easy class if you take good notes. The only barrier is his accent. Very nice to students who he knows take the class seriously and who put in optimal effort. Those who say he is a horrible professor, must not have taken good notes. He knows what he's talking about. Homework is online and an easy 100.

Dr. Fernando was awful. He has an accent that is hard to understand and he doesn't project his voice for the class to hear. When he grades exams he grades how you get the answer, not if you get the problem correct. He said "There's only one way to get an answer to a math problem" and we all know that's not true.

This class is easy if you go and learn the way he likes things done. All you have to do is pay attention and take notes, even if you can't understand him because of his accent all you need are the notes he writes. It is pretty self explanatory.

This class is attainable if you try, many students in this class see the language barrier as an easy way to say he is a bad teacher, in reality I have noticed that as long as you ask him for your help it is not bad. He is a hard test grader, and does use My Math Lab which allows you to seek extra explanation.

While there can be troubles with a language barrier, this man is very helpful if you seek help. He does want you to do math his way, so if you can figure out his method to get the best grades. He tries making lecture interesting, also definitely make sure you don't miss class. He cares about math and really tries. May the curve be with you!

I was really good at math in high school. Then I came to Fernando's class. Oh boy. It's rough. Thankfully, he uses mymathlab where I can get an explanation of the material because you certainly won't get in class. His accent is thick. He's on probation so he cannot fail anyone.

He is the worst professor I have ever had! I have no idea how he even went through college. If you ever get him I would advise you to DROP before you start! He does not explain anything and every question he does someone always corrects him he is AWFUL. I would give him a 0 if i could. He is disrespectful and just uneducated. I could go on and on.

This class is horrible. The professor is hard to understand and he makes no sense half the time. At the beginning of the semester anything above an 85% was an A, now anything above a 70% is an A. NOBODY HAS AN A! We had a substitute for almost 3 weeks and my quiz grades were 100% now they are back down to below 50% again...

This professor is AWFUL! I was put into Math112 as a freshman and got a “C†after having high “B†in high school. Major language barrier because you never know what he is saying. Not very helpful outside the classroom. Indicates textbook is wrong. The problems can only be done his way or it’s wrong. NEVER AGAIN will I take him.
