He could be a very helpful instructor, but how would you know that if he never shows up to class? Be prepared for a load of work and his strange readings. If he shows up to class, it will be hardwork, but you'll learn many things. If he doesn't, good luck at getting a good grade.

I'm not going to lie, I had to work hard to earn an A in his class, but it was an A that I'm really produ of. I can't count the number of times that he sat down with me to help me correct my papers. I truly am a better writer because of his class. It really helped me in ENC 1102.

This class and the grading is ridiculous. You have to do A LOT of dumb busywork. The pieces that you have to read from a binder that he makes you buy off campus makes you wonder what he is trying to teach and he is not clear! He was hardly in class and going to class itself was a WASTE OF TIME.

He is a very rude teacher. He makes his students feel like crap a lot of the time. He will ask, "Does anyone have any questions?" and if no one has any he makes rude comments like "I guess I'm talking to a wall" or "I see I'm throwing my time away." Find a better ENC teacher

Mr. Normand is a great teacher. he was very helpful and understanding. he improved my writing and made class fun. we wrote about fun topics and talked about anything in class. great teacher overall.however, he does miss many classes, which isnt always bad.

I had him Spring 2004. He missed about seven classes. The pot heads came to class more than he did. He was easy though. But I think he graded us easier because he felt bad he was never in class. We'd turn in papers but he was not there to collect them. You won't learn too much from him though.

Kind of odd, but don't let him scare you off the first day. Assigns a reasonable amount of work and you can do pretty well if you keep up with the pace. If you are having trouble, he's happy to help as long as you don't wait until the last moment. Class discussions are interesting and helpful.
