If youre not a reader Id suggest not taking this class, this is a heavy reading course. Easily 6 hours of reading a week with chapter quizzes to match. Open book however so that helps immensely. A paper comparing/contrasting two websites and a mid term exam with essays (heavy on the names and dates) which is also open book. Final also req. essay.

Her class is not for the faint hearted especially her online course. Expect up to 6 hours of reading time a week. A quiz will be on every chapter and you will be required to participate in gator reading. You must read or you will fail! Friendly as a person.

I am taking this online course with her, and her tabs are completely unorganized. All her information is not easily accessible to find a clear definition of what you're supposed to do. All projects are split up into different documents which makes no sense to me. Wouldn't recommend my most hated person to get tortured by taking this professor.

Just took an 8 week (fast track) online class with her. It was my first fast track class and I was nervous but I did the work that is outlined in the syllabus and got an A, I still can't believe it! The class is straight forward and if you do the reading and the work, you should also pass with flying colors.

If you are taking an online class because your personal schedule is busy... DO NOT TAKE HER. I took her 3 week online history class because I work often. There are many strict deadlines, an immense amount of reading and quizzes. No make-ups NO MATTER the circumstance. If you have a life... do not take this class. Beware. My first C EVER.

This class was hard, but Tarrant is very clear about what she wants and where to find the information. If you don't pass it is because you didn't do the work. She makes things interesting by relating history to modern situations. GREAT teacher who cares about students.

Worst class I have ever taken. I hated the entire class and I am majoring in history! Tarrant was the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire career... Very sassy, doesn't know what the heck she is talking about (Says that the US civil war was in the 1700s) and lectures are SOOOOO BORING. If you are looking to take Hist 1301 just don't.

She is an amazing person all around. Her classes are fun to be in. The quizzes are tough though. Always make sure to take a detailed skim through the chapter before taking the quizzes. oh, and learn to right small. She saved my life.

This professor's History 1301 course is very hard when it doesn't have to be. I took the course during a Mini-Mester and took TONS of notes from her taped lectures because she stressed it so heavily in the orientation and almost NONE of her un-realistic timed test questions came from the lectures, they were all out of the book.

If your life is already busy DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. There was an assignment,quiz,book review, documentary review,discussion or exam due every other day. Good professor who knows her stuff! Lectures were interesting and kept my attention. Hers is not a blow-off course though, so be warned. You have to read the textbook, the quizzes can be tough and tests require much study and prep work (prepare for 3 out of 4 possible essays). Although a stickler about things, will work with you if you show effort.

Best history class I have ever been in. Ms. Tarrant cares so much for her students and their success. Enjoyed every moment of her class. It is a more difficult class to be in. You really have to do your work and take notes but she is willing to help out in any way possible. The class was very interactive and interesting. Would highly recommend it

Mrs. Tarrant is a true college professor. I took her class in the summer and it was 4 straight hours of lecture 2 days a week. Super tough. It is essential to take good notes and study the online quizzes because the tests are pretty difficult. However, you will learn. This is NOT a blowoff class.
