It was a treat to discover a professor who was both intelligent and very funny. He tries to come across as a hard ass, but you can tell he actually cares for his students. Available outside of class, but it doesn't seem like many students take advantage of his time. Highly recommend. Not an easy class, but you learn a lot.

Mr. Mac is a really great professor! BUT you have to be willing to put a real effort into your work and learn. He is more than willing to help and is very supportive. He is hilarious and his class was entertaining. I highly recommend him.

Overall, I enjoyed going to McCormicks lectures because he always kept them interesting! He does tend to grade pretty tough on essays but there are not any tests, just lots of easy quizzes!

Mr. McCormick is happy to help you with any homework you have. If you have any questions after class he will gladly answer them for you. The class is more easygoing because he is funny and laid back yet he still expects you to do the best that you can. In my experience I didn't feel like I was forced to go to class because I actually enjoyed it.

He is a tough grader and there are many pop quizzes. Believe me, they are really tough even if you have studied. In the three discussions every day that you have to do, a quiz can come from anywhere. For essays, no matter what amount of work you have done, he will treat it like a peace of meat and butcher it. Yeah, I guess hes a nice guy.

Mr. Mac is a tough teacher in that he pushes you to do your best. Consequently he is a great teacher. Funny, will work with you if you visit him during office hours, and fast on email. I took him for two classes and sweated my way to an A each time. I decided working hard was better than being bored in class. With Mr. Mac that doesn't happen!

If you want to get the most out of your English classes, McCormick is the way to go! He seems tough in class, but is very helpful one-on-one. He's usually pretty good for a laugh, too. You'll rarely be bored in his class.

Professor McCormick is always fair. Keep in mind that this is NOT an easy course! The papers are tough! Personally, I hate writing essays. I must say that this course is worthwhile because you learn a lot in it! Plus, it really helps you with stuff that you need for your other classes!

BEST ENGLISH TEACHER EVER! He is extrmely smart, hlpful & fun. Cares about his studnts though he would humorously mke u thnk othrwise. Not ur typical English class. If ur willing to put in the effrt then it's an interesting & rewrding class. very fun and I came away with better english skills than what I had whn entering the class. Hghly recomnded!

1117 did not prepare myself for this class. I do think he is a hard teacher,but if you contact him , he is willing to help. The essays are the PITS! Some of his responses are out there! Did not know if I would even pass this but ended up with a B. It is NOT a fly by night class with him.

Comment:

ONLINE CLASS. Positives: only 1 book, friendly, takes questions/complaints well. Negatives: Bad speller, not great with D2L, slow answering discussions/questions, more snarky than instructive, some of his quiz answers were wrong, we had to read and understand Othello in 1 week. I learned more from Cliffsnotes.com than him.
