Comment:

Good professor. Had him for a regular art class, and also for sophomore project, and he was very different in both. The former, very helpful and positive in his critiques; detailed. The latter, tough, really pushed everyone in the class; could be fairly harsh. Overall, though, gives excellent feedback once you get used to how direct he can be.

Scott's a good prof. He's a stickler for attendance & your grade will suffer if you are habitually absent. He always has good pointers for how to improve you drawing and allows you to re-do your already graded assignments & turn em in again to get a better grade. Alot of his assignments ARE busy work tho so be prepared to spend 2 hours min on hw.

He is full of knowledge. Pay attention in his class. Even though he has long lectures for an art class, they are all critically important for the class and especially if you are an art major. The work is fairly rigorous for an art class and there is homework due for every class.He doesn't coddle you but is a great teacher.

I love this class! Scott is such a great teacher. He is always willing to help and goes a through step by step process on how to complete projects. Drawing ability not necessary...he will teach you. I came into this class dreading it because I thought I would be terrible, but it ended up being my favorite class of the semester!!!

Best guest lectures of Senior Seminar. A bit self-important, but knows business of graphics well, especially illustration. Relies on Adobe products exclusively (perhaps a negligable point for some), but for scope of graphics program it's fair. Awareness of typography is a definite plus. - - - Scott grades by good design (makes it hard), but he will help you every step of the way if you ask him. Class assignments are invaluable! Can't stress that enough. Pay attention.
