He didn't really lecture as the class mostly consisted of field work, readings and write ups. It takes a while to figure out what he's looking for but he gives you a chance to improve your write ups. You need a bicycle for the fieldwork. That being said, he's hillareous and picks on his students but in a fun way. Do all the work and pass.

Entire grade is 4 tests, multiple choice and short essay. All texts provided online, most have guided notes, answer keys provided, some addtl videos, PPTs. One module didn't have guided notes and was much harder. Put in the time to read and answer the questions and you'll do fine. But if you want a teacher to TEACH, this is not the class for you.

There is a bit more reading than usual in this class but you don't actually have to read in full depth on every assignment, none of his work is hard just tedious. His assignments should not take you very long to do. He himself is an amazing person, he pulled me aside and when I began to slip in class and told me "Come on man, I know you can do this

He assigns about 30-40 pages to read from this extremely dense book called "Guns, Germs, And Steel" and has a writing assignment due on those 30-40 pages the next day. It takes about two hours to finish one chapter and another half hour to do his writing assignments. If you're an engineering major and hate reading assignments don't take his class.

He sure is a fun teacher, but he is awful at teaching. He comes to class and talks about what he did over the weekend and shows pictures of his trips, then gives very difficult quizzes and tests. You have to teach yourself by reading all the articles he assigns. Unless you have a VERY THOROUGH understanding of the material, you're doomed to fail.

I took Dr. Brady for GEOG357 and for the GE pathways. Knows a lot about Latin America, includes his personal experiences. No textbook, but a lot of online articles. Question sets, quizzes, midterm, and a final. Option paper, if you felt you needed it. Attendance wasn't mandatory Read the articles, do the hw, pay attention; easy grade. Don't be lazy

Dr. Brady makes class fun. He has good insights into the world. He taught me about the world (demographics, and statistics). He cracks a lot of jokes. His Louisiana accent and sayings make the class even better. I highly recommend him. You have to show up to class to turn in HW and do the occasional quiz. Test are straight from Hw and quizzes.

Class is a joke. Don't buy the books, all the answers for the tests are in the answer keys. Didn't learn anything about Geography, but hey that's college right?

Super easy if you take the class online. Easy to cross reference material. Open all the readings in tabs and Ctrl+C, Ctrl+F, and Ctrl+V will be your best friends for this class. Difficult if you take the tests without reading the material first or at least skimming it. By material, I mean the answer keys provided online. I never opened a textbook.

I took Dr. Brady back in my Freshman year of college for one of my GE requirements and to this day I still believe he is one of the best teachers I have had. He takes a very dry topic and makes it very interesting.

Comment:
Brady is more concerned with being funny and social than in educating or grading objectively. His exams are unnecessarily difficult and go beyond the scope of assigned reading. Even if you earn what should be an A he will grade you down. Do the readings, and be diligent in your studies, and you too can feel robbed of your proper grade. Terrible.

Professor Scott Brady is awesome! He is very helpful. If you need help, email and he will respond. I had no interest in geography before his class, and while in it, I LOVED it! There is no physical textbook; he provides online reading, as well as a study guide for every test. If you follow everything he states, you will pass with an A.

If not willing to do an insane amount of work, look for a different professor. I'm taking an upper division class online and I regret it. There are only 4 tests. Easy right? Wrong! You not not only have to do all of the readings, but on the tests must choose the wrong answer out of 4 questions. Such an incredibly difficult class!
