He targets students and will mark you down for the smallest things. For example I checked my work, but since I checked it above the equation instead of the bottom he marked me down for the entire question regardless of the fact I got the answer right. He also marked me down because my A looked like an E in my name.

Scott was very energetic and ready for class every single day of the term. He loves to joke around with students, so you should be able to brush off his odd humor. He doesnt collect homework but assigns a decent amount, and will ask you if you did it for points. He can be a tough grader in terms of if you dont write it how he wants, its wrong.

I was very worried at the beginning of the term because of the comments I read about the professor Eakman in this website, but my experience was great, even though I was always really bad at math. He is very strict and you won't pass if you do not study and do homework. In my opinion he is an excellent teacher, tough but fair

I'm terrible at math, but ended up with an A. He relates math to real life and makes it more understandable. He does get petty with format but will let you know. He reminds me of willy wonka. would take again!

Very picky grader, marks you down if you don't do the work to his liking (very by the book). He also isn't very clear when answering questions and ends up making things more confusing than they really are. He's nice but if you struggle at all with math...I wouldn't recommend him. Also he doesn't collect homework which is nice.

Doc prepares students for the next term! There should never be a problem with "doing it his way". He knows what you will need to suceed in your next term and he teaches accordingly. He uses several very affective teaching stategies that many do not appear to recognize as being in their favor! Be eager and you will learn tons. So glad I took him!

This was my first term at college and my first math class since High School in 2008. I couldn't have chosen a better teacher for my Math60 class. He does give a lot of homework, but does well to explain and make sure you take away from the lesson in the time he is given. I'm very lucky to have had this great of a teacher. To bad he isn't doing 65.

Just finished math 60 with him. Homework heavy with lots of reading but he's a good teacher and tries to make it fun. If you do the homework and go class everyday you'll be fine

Honestly, he was one of my first professors when i started college. He's a hard grader, i got a question wrong but took it to the tutoring center, my personal tutor, and other math teachers and they said i got it right but when i took it to him he said it was wrong because it wasn't his way. His lectures are in depth but his style doesn't match me.

I don't understand why there are bad reviews about him. He's a good teacher. He tries his best to help us understand the work. If we get answers wrong on quizzes or tests, he'll give us page numbers to look over. For ever correction we make on our exams gives us extra credit. If you struggle, don't hesitate to ask him to help you. He's really nice.

If you have any struggles with math whatsoever, do not take Eakman. He is extremely difficult to deal with and he is not clear on the homework (which there is a TON of, but he never grades it?). He is non-relational and when asked questions, does not answer them clearly. Marks you down over stupid stuff like using a green pen instead of a blue.

Do not take this teacher if you have problems with math. He assigns too much homework I found myself having to go to the tutoring center quite a bit. He doesn't allow retakes on quizzes which there is one every week. Plus he does not give enough time to finish quizzes. When i approached him about a quiz i failed his answer was very snarky and rude!

I have always struggled with math. However, even after doing my homework each night (which btw he doesn't even check) going to tutoring and doing all the extra credit, hes a different person with a red pen in his hand. Personally dreaded the class, what I learned was all from tutoring and my friends. Would highly recommend taking someone else.

Great Teacher! I have struggled at math my entire educational career, however with this teacher it finally seemed to click. All the people bad mouthing him are just the people who never went to class, did homework, and never studied. He will treat you like you are a high schooler if you act like you are. It's college classes are supposed to have HW

He doesn't give you enough time to take the exams and if you miss a quizz you can't retake it even if you try to schedule a couple says before. He is VERY by the book and if you learned a different way of doing math then this may be hard. He grades only one way and if you don't do EXACTLY what he grades he'll mark you down. I'm not taking him again

Positive professor, and goofy too. He is a great guy and is always upbeat. Clearly knows math quite well. The downside is that his grading is very tough and unforgiving, and there is often hours of homework.
