Scott Fuller is one of the best teachers at the JC I have taken. He is genuine man and will help you with whatever you need but I highly doubt you will because his classes are so in depth and easy to grasp. Would take again. Teaches his lectures through the use of movies, and they are very interesting movies at that! Great teacher! Great class!

I learned a lot from Scott. He really gave me a new perspective on life. You watch movies which he ties to sociology, it's pretty cool. There's a lot of writing to do, my midterm was 10k words for example, but he gives you a lot to write about. Theres only 2 writing assignments, and he never takes attendance, but if you don't show up you'll be lost

I took this course with Fuller satisfy my Sociology major requirement. He didn't take attendance for a majority of the semester. There are only two assignments, but don't let that fool you! These are not to be taken lightly. Your grade is dependent on these essay midterm and final. If you get a substandard grade on the midterm, DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!

This was the most interesting class I have taken. Grade is made up of two papers, mine were 24 and 20 pages long. I thought watching movies for lecture would be strange but I ended up loving it and feeling very inspired each time I left! He is hilarious, loves to swear and make jokes, take this class!!

this was a very difficult class for me. all he showed were movies, and although that can be okay, i dont feel he explained what it all meant. it was like you needed to be abstract about the deeper meaning in the movie. on the other hand, i learn best from visuals; notes, powerpoints, etc. thus i didnt do so well in this class.

Best instructor hands down. Took him in summer. Three keys things to an A...attend class, good notes and let him proof read your paper. Very interesting person and super passionate with his teaching.

This class blew my mind. Fuller is a sociological genius. He's very straight forward about what he expects and with really good notes I got an a. Doesn't use textbooks. He's an inspiring professor and srjc is lucky to have him. But don't take his classes unless you're serious about your education.

This class was not necessarily for me. The movies were kinda interesting but far fetched with the prompts he gave. Everything depended on the miderm and the final. I spent hours upon hours and still received a C on both papers. My final was 27 pages. He said no outside sources yet, he wanted citations.

the matrix and other stupid movies has nothing to do with reality or sociology don't agree with his methods of teaching didn't learn anything. There is no books or guidelines to follow so I don't understand his grading.

Warning...this class is not for everyone. You must be a real student,it is too much work otherwise. Fuller is the best teacher I have had at SRJC and Soc 1 the best class. This is what college is supposed to be like!

The entire grade in this class is based on TWO papers (usually around 20-30 pages). The material for the second paper wasn't covered in class, so hours of Wikipedia are required to even understand what the prompt is. Also, the connections between Sociology and the papers /videos are not clearly explained.

I wouldn't take his class again but there were a few interesting things I learned. I don't think he cares about anyones point of view but his own but I think a lot of professors are like that. Don't disagree with him. Your grade is determined by how well of a writer you are so focus of his essays only.

He is a boss! Really harps on about society, being a sociology class. he got me very interested in the social sciences and "inspired" i guess to write in depth essays about things i cared about. He is able to connect with you about this subject through films, and has this on lock. Highly recommended, even if the essays are time consuming.

Fuller is awesome. The class is hard and the writing can be intense, but it's definitely worth it. He always tries to apply sociological theory to the real world, which gave me a very strong foundation for understanding the social sciences in general. I recommend this class if you want to pursue sociology and are willing to do a LOT of writing.

Lots of writing, mid term and final are 100% of your grade and are about 20-30 pages. If you get a D on the midterm, you'll be advised to drop the class, which is probably good advice. Easy if you take good notes and are capable of thought beyond surface. Excellent material! NO BOOK! Easy A for the right type of person.
