He was rude, never made eye contact, seemed upset with all of us all the time, super impatient, basically mocked us, he'd ask for questions every class and that's it, no teaching, and on top of that he would just make you feel dumb when you asked a question. His tests are HARD. His emails are in "text" language as well.

He told us from the beginning that the course would be difficult and most of us would be lucky to get a C. If anyone moved or tried to pack up at the end of the course, he would scream. His face would turn bright red and the veins in his neck would pop out. He reminded me of Dannie Bonaduce. I passed the class with a C, but his tests were hard.

I signed up for the online class this morning and already dropped it. The syllabus was poorly laid out, extensive, confusing, and vague. It appeared that he took his semester syllabus and changed nothing but the dates. The 20+ year old, hour long video for the paper prompt was un-watchable. I need this course for graduate work - I will wait on it.

He could have been a lot worse, however, he was approachable. Now, with that being said if you were talking to him about non-course material he would be really cool, but if you asked questions related to the course he would laugh. The tests were very difficult. It is best not to study because unless you're 60 you won't understand the wording.

I dont understand how a professor at a community college can be as arrogant and entitled as this man. Terrible professor who always attempts to belittle students. I took his class over the summer and he was shocked to hear I attended a fairly well respected university on the east coast. Exact words were "Wow, I didnt realize anyone could get in"

Absolutely ridiculous. Attended two of classes and had to drop the class. I couldn't understand half of what he was saying and explains things like my 80 year old grandfather would. Highly recommend taking this course from someone a bit more competent.

NEVER take a class from this man. He is the most condescending person I've ever met. Every class period starts with him commenting on how we disappoint him (whether it be with attendance, grades, or participation), and then he wastes time with menial activities that are supposed to prepare us for exams, but fail to do so. He shouldn't be teaching.

Terrible class. Strong believer in the flipped classroom. Be prepared to learn almost nothing in class and everything in the book. He will also make you feel stupid when you ask questions. He is good at quick email response but good luck reading it because its all abbreviated gibberish. Check out the other two professors for a better experiences.

I have never complained about a teacher before him. Does not actually teach course material. For example, we had an assignment he refused to explain in class. Rather, he talked about how terrible America's students are, and posted a video from like 1998 of him assigning the paper. Wordy and won't get off his high horse. Terrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Hated his class! Worst teacher I have ever had. He tries to cram all these sophisticated words into everything he says and it never makes sense. Also cant control the volume of his voice! Tests were hard, homework was hard to understand...not recommended, sorry.

I took this class as a blended/hybrid and it was horrible. Scott never bothers to address his students before jumping right into his lesson. It does not feel like he cares about his students AT ALL. He is very rude, abrasive, and yells a lot. The tests have nothing to do with his online notes, his lectures, the videos, or the book...I'm not sur

Horrible. I took his web supplemented intro to sociology course and nearly failed it. He says the tests are all based on his online lessons and text book readings but they aren't. He is the wordiest lecturer ever and he is very condescending. This guy is up on his high tower and, as far as he's concerned, our generation is full of idiots.

this teacher is not as horrible as he seems, sure if there are other teachers out there i would prefer them.. the classes are a waste of time, as for tests they are not impossible if you keep up with material.. my first exam I got a c, but with the curve it was a b, and still an A in the class
