I had Scott for both my intro history courses. He's a fantastic professor and a great guy to talk to. If you have a question on something he'll go out of his way to help you in any way he can. He is a hard marker though, so take as many notes as possible in class. Besides that he's a great professor. He's pretty much like real life Indiana Jones.

He knows what he's talking about! Scott is overall a good prof and his lectures are generally interesting and funny, but you definitely need to attend his classes in order to do well in the course. He's a bit of a hard marker as well, so definitely put down as much information as you can on tests or exams!!

Scott is by far the best prof I have had, he is a hard marker, but is great for helping you get the quality of your work to a better level outside of the class. His lectures are fascinating, he makes you think and makes you want to learn more. He will make you fall in love with whatever class you have him for. I highly recommend him as a prof.

Classes are lecture heavy, Scott will make you participate for sure. Scott really makes you think beyond the information giving to you. Topics are interesting and well thought out. He does put the powerpoints online, but the lectures go way beyond these. Reading is important but done on your own accord. Scott is intelligant, funny and charismatic.

An excellent professor. He always seemed to have time to talk whether or not it was actually about the subject matter. A very smart individual and very fair with his marking schemes.

Scott is a very smart man. He expects you to work very hard, and he is a hard marker. However, when you get a good mark, it makes you feel amazing. You really do learn in his class. On the down side he assigns a massive amount of readings for his 3rd-4th year classes and its not realistic with a full course load. Hes a rare gem, he actually cares.

Scott is the man! Always willing to help out and his class was the first history class ANYONE will look forward to going to! Tough marker, but of you read your notes/lecture slides/text book before the tests and have an overall general understanding of it, you should do well. Highly recommend any class of Scott's.

Scott has been a great influence to me. He is a fair marker and his tests are designed to demonstrate a general understanding of the term's work. Most students find him to be tough but thanks to him I was more than prepared for graduate school.

I'm always on the fence with Scott. He is interesting, encouraging, and willing to help... but also confusing with high expectations. I learned a lot from his class, but when it came to the tests, there was way too much information to handle. His essay topics were incredibly vague and he took forever to mark them. But he's still a really fun prof!

It is very rare to find an interesting professor who makes what he teaches understandable for university students. This man has a wonderful brain yet he doesn't teach as if he is to other professors of those of like intellect, but breaks it down and makes the course manageable for the university student.
