My wife and actually met in Scott's class ten years ago! Scott Spencer is an amazing teacher. The lessons I learned in English 105 have followed me through the past decade. Such as speaking is not conveying, and why we become bored of jobs we once loved. We were so lucky to have taken such a well designed course from Scott.

His teaching is great, until you get to the essays. i think he was writing research papers himself and then expected you to use the same obscure sources as him... whatever it means his essays are a pain. but, as i said earlier, other then that he is a great teacher

Worst teacher I have had. He is not helpful at all, nor does he care about his students succeeding, I took his hybrid class and it was a mistake. He also talks about how he works at the UW like he teaches there, he works on the janitorial staff, not that there is anything wrong with this but he is very deceiving when he talks about it.

I will second that "what did you expect?"!!!! Tough class, but definitely because he passionately wants us to do our best. I loved the enthusiasm he had for the subjects, and the context he provided behind the texts; it made them really relatable. Very encouraging, and supportive and ready to help.

He is a pompous a**! I took this class on-line and the entire class was confused at to expectations, etc. He was short and condescending in his replies to our asking for clarification at every step. His syllabus was over 10 pages long on what HE is all about. HATED IT and I love English. Don't do it unless you like to torture yourself!

He really teaches. I learnt a LOT from him. Many says he is a hard grader, I dont think so. As long as u do ur best, u will receive good grade from him. Lots of work, but thats the way u learn :)

Terrible teacher, you have to agree with him or you don't get a good grade which is totally opposite from how the class should have been taught. I retook this class with another teacher who understood how to teach English 105 properly and did great. Never take his class, it is horrible.

He is VERY enthusiastic and hyper about everything. Today he got so into something he started screaming yelling like a pirate and throwing himself against the wall. about 5 minutes into it the teacher from next door had to come over and tell him to be quiet because he was distracting her class

he helps when asked, and is clear. Doesnt conform with most Eng instrs. Didnt agree w/ him lots, and always lost. seems to know his Eng but has warped views. Not that they are certanly wrong. seemed like i learned stuff. dif class then most, but intresing
