Besides this class being a two hour 8 AM every semester, Dr. Street makes it a fun class. It's a flipped lecture so you watch the videos outside of class and do top hat in class so you have to make sure to watch the lectures. Three exams, two are take home. He gives loads of extra credit. come to class to do top hat and homework and you'll get an A

Worst teacher I've ever had at VCU. He failed me because I didn't get a 60 or higher on ONE test. I completed all of the homework on time, wrote and submitted a three page paper to "save me from failing" and he failed me anyway. Extremely confusing syllabus. Don't take any classes he teaches.

Take heed of all the warnings below. This class REALLY is that bad. Don't buy into the "if you go to class you'll be fine" and "you don't have homework" comments. Classwork is impossible to finish in class and he does not teach to you. It's all on you. I was between this and Math 200 (Calc) for my last math credit. I wish that i took Calc.

Comment:

This class is hard mainly because it's just so much work, it's boring, and you have to teach yourself for the most part. The material might look scary but you just need to work through the examples on blackboard slowly - the math is all simple, there's just a lot of tiny tedious calculations. A LOT of extra credit - easy A if you have the time.

This is a flipped class, but it's not that bad. Just watch the lectures before class and you'll be fine. He asks TopHat questions during class for credit, easy way to get points. There is no "homework," there's only classwork and sometimes you'll have to finish it at home. He grades the homework based on completion. Allows a help sheet on exams.

This class is an easy A if you just do the homework and go to class for tophat. So much extra credit it's insane. That being said it's a LOT of work/big time commitment. Some weeks you'd spend 10 hours on the work for the class. Not difficult, just tedious. The exams are really easy compared to the homework, just have a good help sheet.

314 is an awful class. The flipped style only benefits people who ask a LOT of questions during class. It's actually not too difficult if you keep up with the work (actually watch the lectures and do the homework on time). Work hard on the help sheet and the exams will be easy. Lots of accuracy-graded tophat q's, but it's like 140/100 points.

Easiest class ever. It literally took me 2 days to finish. Its only a 1 credit class, but its worth it. Dont wait until the end of the semester to do it because youll regret it. Literally the easiest class ever.

This was by far the most stress-free class I've had here at VCU. I completed this online course wayyyy earlier than my other classes. You really can complete the class in one week if you choose to do so. Directions were very clear, although even if you get a "P" in this pass/fail course, it does nothing for your GPA.

Watch the lecture videos before class, and I recommend working some of the problems before class too. An A is attainable but it's a difficult class and you won't do well if you don't try to. Lots of homework but all due on a reasonable schedule. Good at teaching when he actually teaches.

Dr. Street is consistently late to class, and creates a hostile work environment. A flipped class is really difficult if you feel patronized before asking questions. The clicker grade is huge too. It isn't for attendance its for correct answers. I missed three classes and got the worst clicker grade I have ever seen and its out of 100

HUMS 202 is one of the easiest class required of every student at VCU but Street is overwhelming. I had to put him in my spam box with the constant reminders to complete the course. Does he think we are that incompetent? I finished the course MONTHS in advance. I recommend doing this and just taking your time, read directions carefully.
