Followinf grading criteria and turning in assignments was over half the battle. Gives good feedback and his TA-13 class has fun assignments like the final.

He can be a bit sarcastic in his emails, he has a good sense of humor; its a bit too much. He provides strong feedback. You have to read his book (you can find it online through SJSU Library for free!) he will give you an A if your script is strong and follow his guidelines; even if you tanked on the quizzes.

He provides no nonsense feedback, he knows his stuff. You have to buy his book (pss you can get it for Free Online!) Quizzes aren't that hard as long as you read the chapters. Write your scripts like how he does and you'll do fine. If you don't, than good luck.

Let me start out by saying his class isn't that hard. The Quizzes are pretty easy and he lets you take them twice, so as long has you been doing the reading you should be fine. But be ready to have a tick skin when he comments on your scripts lol. Because boy oh boy he can put you down pretty easy when it comes down to your script.

Took the online course, heads up: quizzes each week. For the writing assignment, Sublett doesn't pull any punches criticizing the rough draft, but his comments are greatly helpful and he really wants you to do better for the final. Also, his book is amazing for any aspiring screenwriter. Uproariously funny in person if you like his brand of humor.

The class is lecture for the first 30 or so min, then a film viewing. He lectures w/o a powerpoint so be ready to write down what he says as he says it. He emphasizes what's important and makes lists when there are characteristics you need to memorize. If you read the text, take notes, and watch the films, you'll ace the quizzes and the class.

Professor Sublett gave me great feedback. I'm an English Major and History buff and he allowed me to be creative while constricting me just enough to make sure I wrote a convincing and effective screenplay. Writing is a lot of work but if you work for it and let yourself enjoy the process it is a very rewarding class!

Subletts online screenwriting course is a very straightforward and fun way to tackle the huge task of creating and executing screenplays accurately and with appeal. Hes witty and entertaining, keeping you hooked, while his method is guaranteed to foster success as long as you put in the time to apply it. I recommend this class to everyone.

He is the worst teacher I have had in awhile. I heard taking his on campus class was good but his online class is horrible. He starts off the semester by saying he doesn't know how canvas works. Then he gives earlier deadlines for his online class then his physical one. He doesn't constructively criticize he is actually quite rude in his comments.

Fun, passionate teacher! Professor Sublett is one of my all time favorite Professors. He knows what he is talking about and has fun doing it. Read the textbook to catch little things that he doesn't go over (it's a really good book anyway). He is always willing to chat after class and wants you to succeed. Take his class! He's the best!

Sublett will take you out of your comfort zone, but in a good way. You'll write a screenplay and you'll feel good about it. He's very funny, but if you take more than one class with him you realize he recycles jokes :P They're still generally funny though! One of the most concise, helpful, and interesting teachers at SJSU. Take the class!

Sublett is the one and only teacher who can lecture for two hours and I am wide awake/alert/and interested the whole time. Class is based off of lectures and then a movie, most of which were really good. Go to his class especially for the midterm/final review. Lots of questions but if you study you won't have a problem. He's a fun dude!

This was a bit of an experimental class, and I don't think he'll be teaching it again. It was basically a repeat of the Intro to Screenwriting course. We pretty much played each class meeting by ear, with Mr. Sublett asking us what we wanted to do each day. However his fun and interesting discussions always kept the class entertaining!

Easy and funny class. Scott makes a two hour lecture entertaining...plus you get to watch old films you probably never heard of but are really good.
