Scott as a professor is amazing. He is very clear in the way he writes on the board and explains concepts and is always willing to help if you are struggling. His tests are also very fair and don't try to trick you so as long as you study you can do well.

I am I senior here and I have now taken 3 courses with Scott and he is by far the best professor I have ever had. He is available outside of class and encourages students to meet with him and it so helpful. He takes work ethic into consideration with grades and works with students who work with and respect him.

Scott is the most unique professor I've ever had. I had him for orgo I and II, he is very engaging during lecture and has a good sense of humor. His grading and expectations are very clear and straightforward. If you attend lecture, take notes, and do the problem sets, it should not be difficult to get an A.

Scott is by far the best professor I have had at IC. He cares a lot about his students and gives a lot of practice problems so you understand the material. He is absolutely hilarious and the class is entertaining every day. Take the time to do the work and you will get an A and enjoy what you are learning. Best professor ever.

Best professor ever. Really cuts to the chase and makes you feel like orgo is just another class and not this cut throat semester. His exams were generally easy if you sit down each day and review. Seriously, make sure you do problems at least every day you have lecture and go to every class. He has quite interesting stories to tell too.

I had Scott for lab. For the experiment part of the course he was very helpful. For the discussion part, he was quite confusing. The PowerPoint he would teach from was helpful, but he would skip most of the slides. He was not very clear. The post-lab quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention in CHEM112 and ask Scott any questions before.

Scott is the man, I was pretty worried about how hard orgo was going to be but he made it relatively easy if you put in the work. He is really enthusiastic and funny which makes you want to go to class. One of the better professors I've had at IC.

Scott is and will be one of the best teachers I will ever have. He doesn't have a whole lot of patience for students who don't care, but if you put in the effort and hard work Scott will meet you meet you halfway. Incredibly grateful to this guy- he is essentially the reason I decided not to transfer and pick a major.

Scott is awesome..his notes are almost as good as Mike Hoff's and his lectures arent half as bad as they could be. exams are tough but its organic chemistry.. its not suppose to be easy. he loves to tell stories out of the blue in the middle of a lecture and he wears a blue/purple vest all the time :D but hes not always helpful when needed.

People seem to love him, but he is a MAJOR Dbag. I had a death in my family and needed to take time off. All my other profs were great about it. When I walked into his office the first words out of his mouth were accusing me of LYING about it. He was very uncaring and just brushed me off like an irritation. He is subtle about it, but a jerk still.

I can honestly say that after taking this class I am more interested in chemistry than I was before. Scott's lectures are entertaining and his notes are easy to understand. Exams are challenging, but manageable if you 1) GO TO MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS 2) study notes and 3) do the book problems. All in all, I am going to miss the class and Scott tons.
